From Your Pastor,
“You don’t have to see eye to eye to walk side by side.”
One of the best things about Eastmont is our unity and
harmony. Unity does not mean uniformity. We are dif-
ferent in many ways, but we are united by our commit-
ment to Christ. In all churches Christ is present. In
many churches He is prominent. In Eastmont He is
preeminent. That has kept us together and kept us
focused on making disciples.
When you read this our Guatemala team will already be
serving. They share the gospel in remote villages. In a
way you are there with them. Through donations, yard
sale items, and fund raisers you provided financial sup-
port. There is still another way you are involved;
through your daily prayer support.
Our Administrative Deacons have selected a Pastor
Search Committee for your approval at the November
28 business session. These are: Jerry Short, David Seay,
Brian Key, Cindy Pitts, Courtney Corum, Brian Clem-
ents and Travis Jordan. Over ninety names were sub-
mitted by church members which shows how much you
care for the mission and future of Eastmont. The deci-
sions were not easy. The intent was to have a committee
that reflects all areas of our church. This comes as a
unanimous decision and with church approval the com-
mittee will likely begin their preliminary work in De-
cember. On a personal note these are all great, dedicat-
ed servants of our Lord and will do an excellent job.
December has many opportunities to serve and support.
The Christmas festival is a great family event. Your
LifeGroup is probably planning a fellowship. Our
Christmas music program on the 16th and the Christ-
mas Eve service are opportunities to invite an un-
churched friend or neighbor. We plan to combine the
morning worship service on December 23 and Decem-
ber 30. We will share the Lord’s Supper on December
30 also.
For some of you, this Thanksgiving and Christmas will
be the first one you face without a special loved one
there. My heart goes out to you, and I pray for you. It
can be very difficult because emotions become awak-
ened again. It is okay to remember, miss them and cry
for them. It is also okay to smile knowing that in heav-
en they are happy, healthy and home.
Someone has said “To walk in another man’s shoes,
you first must take off your own shoes.” That is what
God did when He came to us at Christmas. He set aside
divinity and put on humanity. It is not enough that Jesus
was born in Bethlehem. He must be born in you by
faith.

Please prayerfully consider joining our Preschool and
Children’s Ministry through July 2019 to teach, serve, and
love on our children on Sundays. We are still in need of
loving adults (males too) during Preschool Worship once a
month at the 10:30am service. Current needs are:
1st Sunday Bed Babies - 2 volunteers
3rd Sunday Toddlers - 2 volunteers
4th Sunday Bed Babies - 1 volunteer
5th Sunday 2 year olds - 1 volunteer
Sunday Morning Teacher/Coordinator Meetings
Breakfast @ 8 AM, Room 313. This is a vital Team Meeting
that builds unity and provides insight into our growth. Our
upcoming meetings: Dec. 2nd, Jan. 6th, Feb. 3rd
Basketball - K– 3rd season begins January 8th and contin-
ues each Monday through February 25th @ Eastern Hills
Baptist. Practices are Sundays @ 4 pm and Wednesdays @
5:30 pm on the Eastmont basketball court. 4th - 6th grade
season will be played on Saturdays @ True Divine in Janu-
ary and February.
Brown Bag Food Drive - for Forest Park Ministry Center.

Christmas Festival at Eastmont - December 1
Serve Day - Friday, December 21st 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
Begins @ Krispy Kreme and ends at Eastdale Mall. Free
donuts, bring a sack lunch. Free ice skating from 3:30 -
6:00 pm. We will be delivering Christmas gifts, serving our
community, and sharing hope with our homebound.
Parents and families welcome! 2nd grade and under are
welcome to serve with a loving adult.

WINTER RETREAT
Students will travel to Tennessee, January 19-21,
2019. The registration deadline has passed. Remaining
balances are due Sunday, January 6.
YOUTH ON MISSION
YOM will meet the first two Sundays in December. De-
cember 2 we will have Bible Study and breakout sessions
discussing the calling of Saul into ministry. On December
9 we will host a church wide dinner as a Lottie Moon
fundraiser.
DISCIPLE NOW WEEKEND
The dates for DNow are February 15-17. Registration will
begin in January. Save the date and invite friends now.
SUMMER MISSION TRIP
June 23-29, 2019, the student ministry will travel to St.
Louis, Missouri, to partner with Street Reach. Registra-
tion details will be released later. Save the date for
now.

Student Choir
God has richly blessed us with an amazing and talented
group of students! The next generation of worship lead-
ers are bright. Our Student Choir rehearses every Sun-
day at 4PM in the choir suite.
Join us as we serve our Lord through music.
CHRISTMAS PRESENTATION
A Night of Christmas Worship will be December 16.
From choirs to orchestra and handbells, all groups of
our Worship and Music Ministry will be part of this pow-
erful evening. There is a place for you! Contact some
one in the Music Office for more information.
KIDZ CHOIR
Our children are working hard on our program! We will
present PARABLELOOZA on Feb 3 and there is still time
for your child to be a part! We meet each Sunday night
4:45-6:15.
1st-6th Grade drop off at the basketball court, pick up in
the choir suite.
Pre-k meets in the children’s wing.
FOREVER YOUNG CHOIR
Forever Young Choir will rehearse November 27,
December 4 and 11.

Jan. 2-4 in Atlanta. Cost is $125 for first-timers and $175

liver meals for our members.

Memorial Rock Garden in Memory of Layla Hill
The rock garden is meant to encourage family and
friends who have lost a loved one. If you would like to
make a donation, please make the check out to Eastmont
Baptist Church and in the note, write ‘Memorial Rock
Garden’.
