Answer 1:

Part 1
Arithmetic Mean
= x1+x2+x3+…+Xn/n=(£Xn)/n
For Sample
Mean = 46+50+46+54+42+30+42+50+46/9=406/9=45.11
Mean = 45.11
Part 2
Standard Deviation
=Sqrt(((£Xn)2 /n)-( (£Xn/n) 2 )
For sample
=Sqrt(((18692) /9)-( (406/9) 2 )
=Sqrt ( 2076.88-2035.01)
=6.4705
Standard Deviation = 6.4705
Part 3
The Mode
= (Most repeated value)
= (46 repeated three times)
=46
Mode = 46
Part 4
The 75th Percentile
=(n+1)*p/100
= (9+1)*75/100
=7.5th observation
Ascending order arangement
= 30, 42, 42, 46, 46, 46, 50, 50, 54
7.5 observation = 50
The 75th Percentile = 50
Answer 2
Days Cone Sold Temperature
1 350 110
2 200 100
3 210 90
4 100 80
5 80 70
6 70 60
7 50 50

Part 1:
Number of Cones Sold is dependent Variable
Part 2:
Least Square Estimate Line
b=r (SDy/SDx)
A = (y bar) – b (x bar)
£y2 = 230400
£x2 = 25500
SD Y = Sqrt(((£Yn)2 /n)-( (£Yn/n) 2 )
= Sqrt(((230400) /7)-( (1060/7) 2 )
=99.918
SD X = Sqrt(((£Xn)2 /n)-( (£Xn/n) 2 )
= Sqrt(((47600) /7)-( (560/7) 2 )
=20
r = £xy / Sqrt (£x2 * £y2 )
r = 0.927
b = r * SD y/ SD x
b = 0.927 *99.918 / 20
b = 4.63
Now a =
(y bar) = £y/n
= 1060/ 7
= 151.428
(X bar) = £X/n
= 560/ 7
= 80
a = ((y bar) – b (x bar))
a = 151.428 – 4.63 * 80
a = -220.26
Y=a+bx
Y = -220.26 + 4.63 * x
Hence least square estimate line is
Y = 218.56 + 4.63 * x
Part 3
Is there a significant relationship between sales of cones and temperature?
Answer
Yes value of r is above 0 r>0 & r= 0.927 very much near to one
Hence there is high significance in relationship between cones and temperature
Part 4
Predict Sales of a 950 day
X = 950
Y = -220.56 + 4.63* 950
Y = 220.95 = 221
Hence sales of 950 day is 223

The co-relation between age gender marital status and qualification with respect to salary can
be depicted as below:
Out of all factors marital status is showing only a week linear negative co-relation between
age and salary for un married or single person, where a best fit line can be attempted to be
drawn a very week nonlinear co-relation is found in gender of age V/S salary, otherwise no
other co-relation exist in case of qualification or gender with salary.

r = £ (XY) / Sqrt (£X2 * £Y2)

= 1474.5 / Sqrt ( 6980 * 429.5)
= 0.01196
As r value is very close to 0 hence we can conclude that Age and Salary has a very weak co-
relation
Answer:
Thus co-relation co-efficient is 0.01196 and thus we can conclude Age and Salary in
sample data has very week co-relation
