JOB DESCRIPTION
THIS POSITION REPORTS To : DGM (Network & Security Services) – ITI/GS
OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB
The position of the Service Manager Wide Area Network in the NCC is to ensure the
operation of the network infrastructure within the Daimler AG network with maximum
availability and quality. The planning, conception and description of the complex and
heterogeneous network infrastructure as well as the associated management systems
is the essential component of the tasks of the service manager. The monitoring of the
service levels and the quality of the service providers, the derivation of process and
quality improving measures, the examination and assessment of financial effects are
carried out independently.
The project management, definition and reorganization of processes and methods, co-
ordination and communication of the internal contractors and other external suppliers
as well as the verification of the service provision of the service providers in terms of
deadlines, costs and quality in coordination with the involved areas is part of the job.
Exercise of the governance function at the shared service locations. Perform escalation
management in project and line tasks. Ensure the interface to the planning and
implementation teams.

NO OF YEARS : 9 - 12 years

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE: (SKILLS / LANGUAGES ETC.)
Extensive practice experience in the implementation and management of international
projects. In depth understanding of NOC, well proven negotiation skills. Intercultural
competence in international projects
Specific knowledge:
Very good knowledge in all areas of project management; ITIL expert, process design
and optimization; Basic business knowledge; Excellent interpersonal skills; Long-time,
detailed knowledge of Network infrastructures (Cisco, HP); Extensive knowledge of
Wide Area Network and International Leased Circuits, MPLS & internet protocols.

MAIN TASKS DESCRIPTIONS

1 Control and Coordination

Monitoring and controlling the suppliers responsible for the provision of
international WAN. Technical and organizational implementation and enforcement
of specifications. Close collaboration with the other Global team of experts in
security and architecture of Daimler Corporate Network. Perform escalation
management and participation as part of 3rd level support. Plan, initiate and
implement a continuous improvement process (CIP) for all trades in the area of
responsibility, in order to ensure long-term profitability and customer satisfaction.

2 Coordination of employees in project

Coordinate the employees assigned in the course of the project work.
Competence and responsibility according to the respective tasks. Coordination of
outsourcing partners, executing companies, as well as internal and external
employees/customers.
3 Budget & Resource Planning
Responsible for the budget and resource planning within the framework of the
responsible projects. Regular reports on the project situation, i.e. on deadlines,
quality and cost targets. Ensuring cost and performance transparency against the
client and the customer.
