RESEARCH THESIS & Research Thesis PUBLICATION Developed a high precision manufacturing process called ballising which was (While proceeding for my joint venture between University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, 1995-1998. The overall aim of the project was to implement off-line and on-line quality control systems and to study the effects of ball diameter, interference, lubrication, wall thickness (D/d ratio) and specimen length on surface finish and bore quality. Taguchi design of experiment was used to reduce the number and cost of experiments, improve the quality characteristic, “lower is better” and to get the optimum levels of the factors. Publications • Process capability analysis for producing high-precision cylindrical bores using master, presented and published ballising and super-abrasive reaming/ International conference on Quality papers) Engineering and Management, India, 1997. • Process capability analysis of super-abrasive reaming, compared with the existing hole finishing processes/ International conference on Quality Engineering and Management, India, 1997. • Design of equipment for experimental investigation of super-abrasive reaming process/ National Conference on Manufacturing, United Kingdom, 1997. • A Unique technique for producing high-precision cylindrical bores/ Research program, Asia Pacific Forum On Intelligent Processing and Manufacturing of Materials, Australia, 1997.
