GUIDELINES TO STUDENTS

1. Please read the instructions clearly.


2. Students can opt for either ‘open project or company based’ project.
3. Students are encouraged to pursue their project in abroad also with the prior permission
of university registrar.
4. Students may please note the following important dates.

Submission of zero review form (Download from Karunya Web) to IPC

Submission of details of the company (in the prescribed format) to IPC Before 5th Oct., 2010

Submission of acceptance letter of company to IPC


Period of full trimester project Oct 11th 2010– Jan.4th 2011
First project review Nov. 11th ,2010 – Nov.12th 2010

Submission of first interim report to internal guide (Prescribed form) Nov. 11th ,2010

Second project review Dec.13th ,2010– Dec.14th

Submission of second interim report to internal guide (Prescribed form) Dec.13th ,2010

Reporting back to KSM after the project 5th Jan. 2011

Submission of draft report

the company guide to internal project guide 5th Jan, 2011 to 10th Jan.2011

Submission of the copy of company certificate (Please mention the period


of completion) to IPC

Trimester begins 25h Jan.2010


Note: Students are permitted to appear for the via-voce examination only based on satisfactory comments
from the panel members.

5. There are two project review meetings at KSM. Students must attend in both
the meetings and present the progress of their report before the panel
members. However students who are doing their project in North India are
exempted from appearing the first review, but it’s compulsory for the second
one. The progress of their project report must be informed to their guide
regularly through email.

6. ‘Open Project’ must be carried out within the district of Coimbatore. They
should come and report to the guide regularly. The scope of the open project
may be related to the thrust areas of Karunya University (Water, energy,
health care, food etc.)

7. Students are asked to collect the following forms from IPC before they go
for the project.
1. Copies of the interim reports (two)(to be submitted to the guide)
2. Work diary (copy must be attached with project report)
3. Company evaluation form (to be submitted to the guide)

8. Prescribed format of the project report will be put on the notice board one
week before its submission.
9. Students may advise to take their project in their specialized area.
