Things are lookin’ great
As we march into week eight!
Thank you so much to all the drivers and
chaperones who made our trip to the pumpkin patch
possible! The children really had a great time and it
couldn’t have happened without your help.
School pictures were sent home recently. If you want to
have your child’s school picture re-taken please mark
your calendar for Wednesday, October 27. You will
need to return any previously issued pictures at that
time. However, you do not need to return the school ID
or class picture.
Do you have a picture of all the people that live in your
house that you can label and send in? It can be printed
on paper if you have one on your computer. Next week
we will begin discussing our families as defined by who
lives with us. I thought a family picture
might help reinforce the concept. The picture will be
returned to you at a later date.
Please don’t forget to pack a spoon for your child if
his/her snack will need one. You are welcome to
donate a package of disposable spoons for
classroom use if you’d like to. 
Mark your calendars and call the grandparents! Next
week on Friday, October 29, at 7 PM, the
Jr. K and kindergarten classes will be performing two
songs as the opening act for the Fall Musical. No
special costumes will be required for the songs we are
performing this year.
Don’t forget we are collecting used books for
the November book fair. Books of any reading level
may be dropped off in the classroom collection box.

Zoo-Phonics News
This week brings Gordo gorilla to the classroom. In his
honor I’d like to play a gadget guessing
game. Find some obscure item in your home for your
child to bring in—perhaps a kitchen or garage tool.
Explain how it works to him/her. Then we will see if
anyone in our class can guess how it is used. The
gadgets may be brought in any day this week.
Other Classroom News
We will be wandering with the Israelites in the
desert this week learning how God miraculously
provided for their needs. We will also learn about
God giving the 10 Commandments.
In math we will work with the concepts of top,
middle and bottom as well as doing some sorting
and pattering.
