Hero from Mitrovica

A 19-year-old student, Svetko Jovanovic, rescued an 80-year-old woman from a fire. The fire broke out
in an old house near the "Mrvica" pizzeria. Exactly at midnight a student who went to pick up a pizza
saw the house burning and immediately, regardless of the danger, he entered the house and saw a
woman lying on the floor without consciousness. He brought her out of house and called for
ambulance,police and firefighters. Unfortunately, firefighters did not arrive on time and the house
burned. A woman named Svetislava Miletic was taken to the hospital and the police found out after the
investigation that the fire broke out because the iron was not turned off. The owners of the pizzeria
Stefan Virijevic and Zelko Nikolic said they did not notice anything because they were busy. There were
several live streams via instagram and facebook by Katarina Milovanovic and Jelena Djuric, so you can
watch this heroic act on internet. After this, Svetko was given a medal for courage and received a job
offer in the fire department. Svetko was proclaimed as the hero of the city of Mitrovica by the mayor
Djordje Gradocevic.
