ACCIDENTS

An unfortunate incident that happens unexpectedly and unintentionally,

typically resulting in damage or injury.
While doing some experiments or some tasks in the laboratory some unfortunate
happenings may occur, called as accidents we can overcome these accidents or avoid by
following some safety rules. And by using safety tools like, gloves, safety goggles and
helmet, etc.

There are some major causes of accidents:

 Unsafe Acts
 Unsafe Conditions

UNSAFE ACTS
Unsafe acts are some careless activities which are done by a worker a student in the lab to
have less attention or for making fun or playing with tools. These results as a result cause
accidents or serious injuries. The following are some Unsafe Acts.

 Defective tools
 Fire and explosion hazards
 Hazardous atmospheric conditions
 Operating equipment at unsafe speed
 Unsafe manual handling, loading, stacking and storing of materials
 Ignoring safety signs/warning devices

Defective Tools
In lab if we use any kind of defective tool it can cause an accident. It can hurt a
person or demolish our desired material.
