MLCW Rules & Regulations - Season 7

Introduction

Miner League Clan Wars (or MLCW) is an organized, friendly war competition hosting clans from
all over the globe of varying sizes, skill levels and time zones. Clans accepted into MLCW will be
assigned into one of the leagues, and will be scheduled to war with one opponent per week
during the regular season. At the end of the regular season, the highest ranked clans will
participate in a playoff to determine a season champion.

In order to help maintain order, ensure fair play, and promote good sportsmanship, the MLCW
administrators have developed these rules and regulations to apply to all MLCW Season 7
participants. It is the responsibility of each clan's selected representatives to inform their
respective clans of these rules and regulations. Admins reserve the right to interpret all posted
rules as required to settle disputes and will ultimately make decisions based on the spirit of
stated rules when the issue-at-hand is not explicitly addressed herein, and to enforce them
accordingly.

As per usual, our rule structure remains intact with a few notable changes to enhance our
participants’ quality of play. Important elements such as fair play, player eligibility, and matching
restrictions remain widely unchanged while some exciting new changes - most notably the
incorporation of tiered weighting for TH11s and TH12s, larger league breakdowns and the
addition of a “partner” clan for all MLCW clans - are in direct response to participant feedback.
Our aim is always to improve the overall MLCW experience while striving to maintain a level
playing field for all clans.

For our returning clans, we will be including a Revision History preface to this document in order
to help players and clan reps alike get a firm grasp on rule revision minutiae as we transition to a
new season. For new and returning clans alike, we have included links throughout this document
for quick access to important resources and which can also be found in the #useful_links channel
of our official MLCW Discord server.

As always, all Season 7 participants are encouraged to reach out to their friendly league Admins
with any questions they might have concerning these rules or anything else pertaining to MLCW.
A complete list of Admins can be found here: MLCW Admin Team. For those clans which are not
yet part of our family and would like more information on how to become a participating clan in
the MLCW, start off in our Clan Castle League (CCL) and much more, please visit our website at
www.mlcw.org.

We wish the best of luck to all Season 7 participants, new and old, and we look forward to
another exciting and successful season!

-Your Friendly MLCW Admin Team

MLCW Rules & Regulations - Season 7

Part 1: Structure, Schedule & Statistics

Section 1: Leagues and Minimum BDs

1. The MLCW is comprised of 4 leagues of varying default breakdowns (BDs) to
accommodate a variety of clan sizes and strengths. Clans are allowed to negotiate
different breakdowns with their opponents each week as long as they meet the
minimum number of accounts in each league. If clans can’t agree to a breakdown, the
default BD will be mandatory. (Each listed BD format represents town hall levels 12/11/10/9
respectively):
a. Grand Warden League 3/8/24/0 BD (35 account minimum)
b. Archer Queen League 2/5/18/5 BD (30 account minimum)
c. Barbarian King League 1/4/12/8 BD (25 account minimum)
d. Battle Machine League 0/3/7/10 BD (20 account minimum)

Section 2: Regular Season Schedule & Standings

1. Clans accepted into each league will be assigned a schedule of opponents in their
respective league (and, where applicable, division), one match per week.
2. Regular Season: November 7th 2018 – TBD.
a. (11) weeks of regular season play
b. (4) “bye” weeks taking place on the weeks of November 21st, December 19th,
December 26th, and TBD.
3. Regular season standings will be determined based on win percentage, followed by head
to head, followed by star differential and finally destruction percentage.
4. At the end of regular season play, the highest ranked clans in the standings from each
league will advance to the postseason:
a. In the event of a regular season 2-way tie, head-to-head will be used as the
tiebreaker.
b. In the event of a regular season 3-way (or more) tie, the deciding metrics will be
star differential, then destruction percentage.
5. The regular season schedule and standings for Season 7 can be found at the following
link:
MLCW Website

MLCW Rules & Regulations - Season 7

Section 3: Postseason Schedule & Format (to be updated when clans are
selected)

1. Following the conclusion of the regular season there will be a single elimination playoffs.
The number of clans in the playoffs and playoff seedings will be updated after clans are
selected.

2. Following the conclusion of Season 7, MLCW will host an All-Star War featuring the best
statistically ranked players from the preceding regular season.

Section 4: Statistics Tracking via WarMatch

1. Throughout the regular and postseason, MLCW has its league statistics, schedule, and
standings tracked via warmatch.us. In order to ensure proper tracking of player and clan
statistics, participants must keep an open war log at all times during the course of the
regular season and playoffs until which time their clan is eliminated.

Part 2: Fair Play

Section 1: Fair Play

1. MLCW is a fair play competition. Any violations determined to be in contrast with the
concept and/or the spirit of fair play even if no specific rules directly apply will be
penalized.
2. Class A infractions:
a. Using Private Servers: Software designed to duplicate gameplay of Clash of Clans
outside of the app.
b. Modding: Use of 3rd party applications to manipulate/alter/automate gameplay of
Clash of Clans.
c. Ringing: Having someone outside of the clan pilot accounts.
d. Burner Accounts: Use of accounts that are disposable to manipulate gameplay.
e. Class A FP violations will result in the following consequences:
i. Violation by a single player will result in a permanent ban of the player and
forfeiture of any wars they participated in.
ii. If clan leadership is aware and/or involved, the players involved and clan
leadership will be permanently banned, and the clan will be added to the
MLCW ban list.
3. Class B infractions:
a. Spying: Using an account (clash of clans, discord or equivalent account) to gain
access to another league clan’s communications/bases.
b. Crowdsourcing: Posting an opponent’s base on a public communication chat (any
chat that isn’t your own clan family’s) to ask for advice on how to attack.

5
MLCW Rules & Regulations - Season 7

c. FC Abuse: Simulating attacks on TH8 bases or lower abusing the cooldown

feature.
i. No TH8’s or lower are allowed in clan during battle day. It will be assumed
they are there for FC abuse.
d. Class B FP violations will result in the following consequences:
i. Violation by a single player will result in a season suspension for the
player.
ii. If clan leadership is aware and/or involved, the players involved and clan
leadership will be suspended for the remainder of the season, and the clan
will be removed.
4. Class C infractions:
a. Account History: Visiting and/or having a dual account in a banned clan for more
than 4 days within the last 6 months or any time within the last 30 days. Clans are
banned for known FP violations and a full list can be found at the following link:
MLCW Banlist.
i. Any accounts found to be in violation, and any alternate accounts by the
same owner must be removed from the clan while in violation; any attacks
from the accounts during the violation period will be voided.
● Exemptions, pardons and appeals will only be considered on a
case-by-case basis.
ii. If clan leadership is aware of the violation and reasonable steps were not
taken to remove the player(s), the clan will forfeit those war(s).
b. Player Bans: any player serving a permanent or season ban for MLCW, found at
MLCW Banlist, or any alternate accounts by the same player, are not allowed on
the master roster or in clan at any time.
5. Admins reserve the right to gain entry (or send a representative of our choice) into any
MLCW clan and/or partner clan for any purpose and/or access to Direct Message (DM)
chats, Discord (or similar communication app) servers. Refusing Admins such admission
or access will be equivalent to an admission of guilt and will be dealt with accordingly.
6. Participating clans are expected to fully cooperate with any ongoing investigations
Failure to do so, or any attempt whatsoever to interfere with or impede an ongoing
investigation including, but not limited to, disclosure of sensitive information in a public
forum and/or inflammatory comments directed toward Admins is grounds for immediate
removal of the clan from league play.

6
MLCW Rules & Regulations - Season 7

7. It is the responsibility of all clan reps to be vigilant in ensuring all master roster members
and player “subs” fit the requirements of fair play eligibility for any given match.
8. Admins reserve the right to ban or suspend a player for actions against the values of the
league and/or negatively impacts MLCW or a MLCW clan.

Section 2: Clan Visitation & Dual Accounts

1. No single player should war the same opponent two weeks in a row as a “sub” or
member of multiple MLCW clans.
a. In the event that two clans meet and a single player has a dual account in each,
the following precautionary steps need to be taken to ensure a fair play
environment is maintained:
i. That player must choose which clan’s match roster they will be on (if any)
and then remove their account from the clan in which they will not be
participating.
ii. The dual accounts must be declared by both clan reps to Admins prior to
war matching. Failure to declare duals to Admins prior to matching will be
construed as an attempt to spy and subject to commensurate penalties.
iii. The clan in which the player-in-question will not be participating will be
held responsible for taking precautionary measures to prevent
dissemination of sensitive intel between clans. Admins will neither monitor
nor accept responsibility of shared intel via Discord servers or other similar
modes of communication.
2. MLCW will make every effort to enforce these rules, but due to the high incidence of
players with multiple accounts (spanning a multitude of clans), individual clans will be
responsible for policing their rosters and should be advised on proper protocol for
accepting players into their respective clans.
3. All participating clans are encouraged to utilize clashofstats.com or similar stat-tracking
resources in order to help determine whether or not an applicant could be a spy and/or to
exercise sound judgement prior to granting entry.

Section 3: Burned Bases

1. If a base is used in ANY war, it is considered burned and if used, it is at the player/clan’s
risk.

Part 3: Master Roster & Roster Changes

Section 1: Master Roster Submission

1. Each participating clan will be asked to submit a master roster of “regular members”.
Regular members are members originating from the MLCW entered clan and a “partner

7
MLCW Rules & Regulations - Season 7

clan” as defined during the master roster submission and applicable for the duration of
the season. Partner clans may not be changed after season roster lock day. The partner
clan may be any clan not directly participating in MLCW or any participating clan that is in
a different MLCW league. Accounts may therefore be listed as both “main” and “partner”
on the master roster. The master roster size for each clan is equal to the league BDx2 or
50 total, whichever is greater.
a. GWL (70) total
b. AQL (60) total
c. BKL (50) total
d. BML (50) total
2. Once accepted, the admin team will maintain a live master roster for each clan.
3. For the purposes of transparency and verification, all participating clan members and the
clan itself, must maintain a public profile on clashofstats.com - if the admin team cannot
verify a player’s history, that player is not eligible for master roster consideration.
4. A complete list of all S7 participating clans’ master rosters can be found at the following
link: #useful-links channel on MLCW Discord.

Section 2: Master Roster Changes

1. Master roster changes are allowed but will be limited to three player additions per week
and 25 total over the course of the Regular Season. Any roster changes not used by the
end of the Regular Season are lost. TH9 additions will not count towards the season or
weekly total and are not limited.
2. Unlimited roster deletions may occur per roster change but should always be submitted
with at least one roster addition.
3. Clans will be limited to a total of one player addition per week during Playoffs.
4. Player(s) will not be eligible to be added to a clan’s master roster until said player(s) have
resided in the respective clan for a minimum of seven consecutive days between the
primary and partner clan.
5. All master roster changes must be submitted by using the provided Master Roster
Change Form before said changes are made official. A link to the Master Roster Change
Form can be found pinned in the #s7-reps channel on the MLCW Discord server.
6. Master roster change submissions must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the
proposed change. If, after 48 hours, a submitted roster changes have not yet been
incorporated into the master roster spreadsheet, a select clan representative may DM a
roster management Admin for the sole purpose of status inquiry.

8
MLCW Rules & Regulations - Season 7

Part 4: Match Arrangement

Each participating clan will designate exactly (2) representatives for the purpose of match
arrangement and negotiation. Although MLCW officially recognizes a maximum of (2) official
representatives per clan, more than two clan representatives may be used for actual negotiation.

Section 1: Match Scheduling

1. Clan reps are responsible for determining war day/time and prep/battle length for each
friendly war.
2. All battle days must occur between Wednesday 12:00 AM EST and Tuesday 11:59 PM EST.
If it becomes clear during the matching process that this deadline can not be held, an
Admin must be informed and has to approve the alternative deadline.

Section 2: Match Breakdowns

1. All participating clans will follow the minimum prescribed breakdowns (BDs) per league as
detailed under Part 1, Section 1.
2. BDs may be adjusted so long as both sides agree to the changes; otherwise the default
BD will be enforced.

Section 3: Match Roster Submission

1. A match roster must be submitted to the scheduled opponent no less than 48 hours and
finalized no less than 24 hours before match time. This will allow time for lineup
negotiation and, if necessary, moderator mediation.
2. All match rosters must be populated and submitted via the MLCW Matchtool (Red Cloud)
found in the #useful_links_for_reps channel and should list all participants along with
their respective weights/tiers and player tags (users will need to make a copy of this
spreadsheet before populating with player data). Please note: ReD Cl0uD matching tool
is implemented by MLCW with the approval of ReD Cl0uD. Any updates which might
occur to the original ReD Cl0uD doc may not be reflected in the MLCW-linked document
as the season progresses.
3. Any change to the match roster after the roster lock (24 hours before declaration),
requires the clan rep to notify the opponent. Last minute emergency swaps are allowed
for account unavailability, but require notification prior to or immediately following war
declaration. The emergency swap must be for:
a. Equal or lighter player (both weights and total hero levels are the same or lower
than the player being replaced)
b. The replacement player must be on the master roster or within the sub limit.
c. The account is clean of any bans, suspensions or other rule violations.

9
MLCW Rules & Regulations - Season 7

4. In order to help streamline the matching process, all available master roster players
should be listed on each submitted match roster with auxiliary/backup players listed in
addition to proposed match lineup.

Section 4: Match Substitutions

1. A substitute player or “sub” is defined as any player who is not part of a participating
clan’s master roster. This includes members of family clans as well as alternate accounts
that are not regular members of the clan-in-question.
2. In general, subs are allowed but must be disclosed to the opponent during the matching
process along with their player tag and clan of origin. Subs will be limited on a per match,
per league basis as follows:
a. Grand Warden League (GWL) - 0/2/5/0 or 1/1/5/0
b. Archer Queen League (AQL) - 0/1/4/1
c. Barbarian King League (BKL) - 0/1/3/1
d. Battle Machine League (BML) - 0/0/2/2 or 0/1/1/2
3. Please note, “subs” should only be used when absolutely necessary (i.e. for the purposes
of matching or when no other suitable player is available) or when deemed appropriate
by an Admin during the course of mediation (See Part 4, Section 7 for additional
information). Subs should NOT be used for the sole purpose of gaining an advantage
over an opponent.
4. Substitutions between clans competing in the same division are not allowed (See Part 2,
Section 2 for typical clan visitation restrictions).

Section 5: Match Weighting Restrictions

1. In keeping with the spirit of fairplay and to help improve matching across all leagues,
several roster matching restrictions are currently enforced by the MLCW with regard to
combined hero levels and defensive base “weight”.
2. Moving forward, MLCW will be enforcing weight restrictions by town hall according to the
following calculation criteria:
1. TH12 - Based on “Tiers” for TH12 weighting calculations
2. TH11 - Based on “Tiers” for TH11 weighting calculations
1. The official calculator to be used for the purpose of identifying TH12/TH11
Tier levels can be found here: MLCW Tier Calculator.
3. TH10 - N/A - No weight restrictions or matching requirements.
4. TH9 - N/A - No weight restrictions or matching requirements.
3. Maximum aggregate defensive weight differentials will be enforced according to the
following criteria::
a. Grand Warden League (GWL) - 1k@12, 2k@11
b. Archer Queen League (AQL) - 1k@12, 2k@11
c. Barbarian King League (BKL) - 1k@12, 2k@11

10
MLCW Rules & Regulations - Season 7

d. Battle Machine League (BML) - 2k@11

4. All town hall levels must have all defenses built and maxed according to their previous
townhall level, and must have, at a minimum, all defenses built for their current town hall.

Section 6: Use of Special Traps, Troops, & Spells

1. In the event that Supercell announces a special limited time event involving traps, troops,
and/or spells which will overlap with a planned match, MLCW will not enforce any
agreements to use or not use said items, and any such agreements that are made
between clan reps as part of the match negotiation will be at the complete discretion of
the respective clans.

Section 7: Mediation
1. In the event that any stated conditions listed under Part 4, Sections 1 through 5 cannot be
met and/or clans cannot reach an agreement autonomously, clan reps shall contact any
member of the Mediation Team for resolution.
a. Once contacted, the assigned Admin will make a text channel visible to all
pertinent clan reps for the duration of the mediation.
b. Admins do not guarantee resolution of all conflicts but will make every effort to
help reach a consensus.
c. Admins will not take part in any discussions pertaining to issues which have
already been ruled on and closed unless new evidence is brought to light.
d. All individuals who take part in mediation discussions via an assigned mediation
room or DM are prohibited from sharing screenshots from said mediation in any
other forum, public or private.
2. Mediators can be reached by sending a message to the Admin mailbot in the MLCW
discord server. For a complete list of Mediation team members, please see the following
link: MLCW Staff.

Part 5: Roster Violations & Resultant Penalties

Section 1: Violations and Penalty System

1. In a continuing effort to ensure all established criteria are being adhered to and to not
directly impact current or future wars negatively, ensuring an even playing field for all
wars, the MLCW Admin team will be enforcing the following penalty system for Season 7.
a. All clans will begin the season with 25 points and will receive deductions as
outlined below.
b. Once a clan has lost all available points they will be removed from the league.

1. If a clan has proof of violation by their opponent, it is the responsibility of that clan’s
representatives to immediately inform the offending clan of the violation along with
substantial proof of wrongdoing. The rep must also then contact the Admins via the
Admin mailbot in the MLCW discord server with proof that the offending clan was properly
notified.
2. In the event that an attack is staged on a base effectively blocked as a result of incurred
penalties, any and all stars or percentage gained by any player on said base will become
null and void.
3. If proof of violation is not raised for any infractions listed under Section 1, Rules 1 & 4
above prior to the player-in-question logging one or both attacks, those attack(s) already
staged will not be affected in any way although point deductions may still be issued.

Part 6: Match Results

Once a war match is decided, the victorious clan is responsible for posting the results of the
match in the #results channel of our Discord server. This must be done by screenshotting the
match results in game. Any matches resulting in a tie will require a makeup match. Both clans
will be equally responsible for scheduling, arrangement and completion of required match
(typical process rules and regulations will apply.)

Part 7: Forfeiture, Removals & Withdrawals

Section 1: Match Forfeiture

1. A forfeit will result in a straight win or loss with no changes to either clan’s star differential
or destruction percentage.

15
MLCW Rules & Regulations - Season 7

2. If, for any reason, a clan forfeits more than two matches, they will be removed from the
competition (See Section 2 below for information regarding clan removals and
withdrawals.)

Section 2: Clan Removals & Withdrawals

1. If a clan withdraws or is removed from the competition a suitable replacement clan (as
determined by Admins) will be promoted from Clan Castle League to compete in that
clan’s spot for the remainder of the regular season. The incoming clan will accept the
record of the clan they replaced.
2. If a suitable replacement clan is not available, their remaining opponents on the schedule
will receive a forfeit win until a replacement can be found.
3. If a clan withdraws or is removed in the last two weeks of the regular season, their
remaining opponents on the schedule will receive a forfeit win.

Part 8: Communications

MLCW uses Discord as its primary communication tool. The following rules of conduct and
engagement will apply to the official MLCW Discord server and its channels.

Section 1: Defamatory & Inflammatory Comments

1. Calling people out in chat, making accusations in a public forum and/or simply inciting
unnecessary drama is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated under any
