Dear Parents and Carers,

Property Update November 2018

Following the Parent/Carer Drop-In Session on 25 June 2018, where information and
plans for the nursery extension were shared, I wish to update you on further
improvement works which will be undertaken within the school.

These works include upgrading the heating system, rewiring, refurbishment of toilets,
technology upgrades including Wi-Fi and audio visual equipment, redecoration and
new flooring. The improvement works will be carried out from November 2018 to
August 2020 and will include the nursery extension. In order for these works to be
carried out, classes will move into temporary classrooms for a period of 3 weeks.

The works will be carefully managed throughout to ensure the health and safety of
pupils, staff and visitors. Also, we will ensure the works do not adversely impact the
learning environment for the children and the ability of the school to meet the
curriculum.

You will be regularly kept informed of how the works are coming along and we look
forward to implementing the Scottish Governments initiative of increasing the hours
of free Early Learning and Childcare to 1140hrs as this will provide flexibility and
choice for families.
