differentiated instruction. The teacher will introduce a few
important vocabulary words to be used
throughout the lesson. Understanding
of these words is crucial to the
understanding of the grammatical
rules and therefore correct use of each
relative pronoun.
Students will be provided with a notes
packet-including blanks-for them to
fill and record their examples in as we
go.
DURING:
The teacher will begin the lesson by
asking students what relative pronouns
are in English.
Working with and building off of their
responses, the teacher will use the PPT
to explain what they are and how they
are used in Spanish.
The teacher will first introduce the two
most common, que and quien,
followed by rules and examples for
using them.
After each pronoun, quien and que,
students will stop and take one minute
to construct their own sentence
modeling the ones from above. Each
group will share their sentence aloud
and all group members will be
expected to write their example into
their notes.
The teacher will continue to introduce
each of the 10 relative pronouns in
progressive complexity while having
students create sentences modeling the
example.
AFTER:
Students will complete an exit ticket
with several sentences including
choices for the correct relative
pronoun.
Students will be provided with a link
for additional self-correcting practice
resources.
Formative Assessment Correcting and providing feedback to student
generated sentences.
