Date Event Time & Details

PSA Chem Club The Chemistry Club Catalysts are our way to help you
be more active in Chemistry Club. When you pay $15,
Catalysts you will get benefits like priority registration for Chem-
Club-hosted events, Free food at our events and a free T-
Shirt. To show your active involvement, all chemistry
club catalysts at least have to do these requirements: 3
Meetings every quarter, 1 community event, and 1
fundraising event. If you do more than the minimum,
you might be rewarded with member of the month or
even something more than that. However, catalyst or not,
you are still part of the chemistry club and we will accept

PSA General Since the general chemistry club meeting room did not
change, we will accommodate everyone to be in the
Chemistry Club room together. However, the next meeting will still be
Meeting Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 3-4pm. We will
email on our listserv for any change.
PSA Chem Club T- The order for T-shirts has been placed to the distributor.
The shirts are expected to arrive within the first week of
Shirts November. Be sure to look for the email listserv from the
chemistry club president when the shirts come in
PSA Weekly Study We are finalizing the weekly study session for this
quarter. If need help with your chemistry classes, need a
Session place to study that is not the library or want to help other
achieve academic success then the weekly study session
is for you. We will email you on the listserv or announce
it in the next general meeting.
PSA Central Park If any of you Chem Club Catalysts are having trouble
finding community service events to volunteer for,
Gardening check out Central Park Gardening! It occurs Saturday
morning in downtown Davis a couple blocks away
from campus, next to the Davis farmers market. More
details can be found at their website:

Oct. 20 ACS Career Last Saturday was ACS Career Day where the American
chemical society showed different careers within the
Day chemistry field. It was held in Berkeley and it was a free
event for ACS members.
Oct. 23, ACS PIB This was an ACS webinar about the voyage to Mars. It talked
about the Geologic history of Mars & how knowledge and the
3:30 - environments that existed on surface of Earth & Mars during
4:30pm time when life evolved. It also discussed the challenges of
long-term space travel & work needed for humans to survive
the voyage plus the current state of recycle waste research that
will sustain valuable material using biopharm production. It
was held in Chemistry 161. If you would like to view a
recording of the webinar, email the Chem Club President.
Oct. 26, Spooktacular If you still want to volunteer for Spooktacular, there are
still open spots for clean up duty after the event.
5:00 - However, in order to attend the event, you must pay $10
8:30pm in order to cover for the food and activities in
Spooktacular. You can wear your own costumes and
have fun with Chemistry professors. Relax on a Friday
night for spooky time.
Nov 16 Chemsgiving Chemsgiving is our annual thanksgiving potluck event
within the chemistry department. Students, professors,
staff and advisors from the chemistry department bring
food to celebrate to give thanks on this day. There will
be collabs with other clubs so it will not be all about
eating. We will announce more details in the next
general meeting and on the listserv as well.
Nov 30, CPMP Alumni The Chemistry Peer Mentoring Program is hosting a alumni
panel where the talk about their experience after graduating
5-7pm Panel and from Davis. They will go over how to prep for graduate
Game Night school, how to network after college and other questions you
have regarding life after Davis. Then to jumpstart your
networking afterwards, there is a game night following
afterwards with the alumni. It will be held in Chemistry 172.
TBD Movie Night Please check your email for a SurveyMonkey link sent
by the Chem Club President to determine the movie and
day we will host the event.
