“MAGNIFICO”

Lesson Learned:

Try not to focus on the problem itself rather seize opportunities because there is only one life
and also love your family.

Message:

The film reveals to us that we should see the world like Magnifico's eyes. We should help
other people even in our own particular little ways. The world would be a wonderful place if we
know how to give without expecting any returns.

Conflict:

In a Philippine town outside the island of Luzon, one exceptional kid changes the lives of
everybody he meets named Magnifico. He belongs to a poor family. His dad works in a
construction sites. His older brother sibling lost his scholarship in Manila and his mom spends
her days thinking about his younger sister, Helen who experiences cerebral paralysis, and her
husband’s mother, who lives upstairs in the family home and has a diabetes and pancreatic
growth. Magnifico is a sweet and benevolent kid, who is frequently scolded by his dad for his
ineptitude, an unkind appraisal for a tyke who is impressively more cunning than anybody gives
him acknowledgment for.

Magnifico's world is filled with a cast of characters in need of his special gifts of hope, of
determination, of love. There's the grief-stricken man who mourns for his mother; two feuding
shop owners; the crabby old woman who runs the mortuary; his elder brother, who has a crush
on a wealthy girl; his little sister, who wants to get out and experience the world, but cannot walk;
and even his own ailing grandmother, who worries that the family won't be able to afford a proper
burial for her when the time comes. That's not really a problem of a young boy like Magnifico.

Nonetheless, Magnifico applies himself diligently to help them, concocting a remedy for the
mortician's ailments, playing matchmaker for his love struck brother, industriously scheming to
provide a burial gown and coffin for his grandmother, and negotiating a wheelchair so he can take
his sister to the carnival. Seeking nothing for himself, with his undaunted dedication to bring joy
to the people he loves, Magnifico somehow manages to find just the right solution to fill every
need. And when the night of the big carnival arrives, his efforts pay off in spades.

Climax:

And keeping in mind that all that is going on, Magnifico is attempting bring her little sister Helen
in the carnival, as a result of her disabilities, she can't stroll under her own particular power, so
Magnifico assumes that he needs to get some type of transport for her. He endeavors to get a
wheelchair from Domeng. Magnifico works out an arrangement with Domeng, offering what little
money he needs to rent the wheelchair for a night. But he failed to save the money. Magnifico
spend his money on pharmaceutical for Lola Magda. But he didn’t surrendered he still carried
Helen on his back and bring her sister at the carnival at any rate. The townspeople, hearts was
touched watching this young man demonstrating his love and commitment to his younger sibling.
They give them something that can help Magnifico and his sister.

Summary:

One child was born. Geraldo (Albert Martinez), the father named his child "Magnifico" because
he believed that this child will free them from the impoverished life. But, Edna (Lorna Tolentino)
the mother, feared that their child may not be the solution in their problem. Geraldo's salary isn't
sufficient to cover their daily expenses and Edna, who only thinks about Magnifico's diasabled
little sister, Helen (Isabella De Leon) but she also doing embroidery for additional income.
Moreover, Magnifico's grandmother, Lola (Gloria Romero), helps as well by offering massage for
her neighbors. After she fall from the roof Lola was brought to the hospital, the family's ability to
sustained their needs worsen. She was diagnosed to have a cancer. Edna, worried that they won’t
able to pay the medical expenses of Lola. On the other hand, Lola thinks that when she died it
was also cost a lot A coffin and internment lot will approximately cost not less than 30,000 pesos.
Neither life nor death, it appears that the family can’t bear. Miong, cameback home because he
lost his scholarship in Manila and took a tip from his friend (Allyson Gonzales) who told him that
their problem will be finished if he was married to Isang Romy (Girlie Sevilla), the little girl of an
affluent woodcarver (Tonton Gutierrez). Magnifico, in the mean time, has his very own thought:
Using scrap wood from Mr. Romy, and a sledge and saw acquired from his neighbors, Magnifico
will construct his grandma a coffin box. Through the help of his friend and father, he finished the
coffin’s box. Magnifico's world is filled with a cast of characters in need of his special gifts of hope,

early age. He was hit by a car. Their neighbors was so lonely on what happened to him. They
realized all the help Magnifico give to them. He undoubtedly impact the lives of the townspeople
and change the diminish point of view of his family by demonstrating that everything is possible if
will they see different problems like the eyes of a Magnifico.
