3.1 FOR REMOVAL
1. REMOVE PISTON AND SUB ROD AS PER SECTION 2: GUIDE 06.

2. REMOVE LINER CLAMP.

3. REMOVE LINER.
NOTE: IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO PRISE OUT THE LINER WITH
LEVERS BETWEEN LINER COLLAR AND PILOT BUSHING.

4. EXAMINE WEAR PLATE AND CHANGE OUT IF EXCESSIVELY WORN OR


DAMAGED.

5. CHANGE PISTON RUBBER (OR COMPLETE PISTO IF REQUIRED).

6. CLEAN ALL COMPONENTS THOROUGHLY.

3.2 FOR ASSEMBLY


1. THOROUGHLY GREASE PISTON AND INSIDE OF NEW LINER.
NOTE: NEVER USE METALLIC BASED COMPOUNDS SUCH AS COPA-
SLIP OR METALLIC DRILL-COLLAR DOPE.

2. GREASE OUTSIDE OF LINER PILOT SECTION AND INSIDE OF PUMP BORE


WITH HEAVY DUTY DOPE.

3. INSTALL LINER.

4. GREASE INSIDE OF LINER CLAMP WITH HEAVY DUTY DOPE.

5. TIGHTEN CLAMP BOLTS EVENLY TO 250 FT LB TORQUE.

6. INSTALL PISTON AND SUB ROD AND TIGHTEN CLAMPS TO 150 FT LB


TORQUE.

7. REPLACE LINER SPRAY MANIFOLD AND COOLANT HOSE.

3.4 COMPLETION
RESTORE PUMP TO OPERATING MODE AS PER SECTION 2: GUIDE 02.

3.5 CHECKS
CHECK SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE FIRST TWELVE HOURS OF OPERATING, TO
ENSURE THAT THE LINER CLAMP REMAINS TIGHT.

NOTE

1. LINERS ARE TO BE RUN TO 1000 HRS OR MORE. IF DAMAGE OR EXCESSIVE


WEAR IS ENCOUNTERED BEFORE THIS TIME, ADVISE TOOLPUSHER, WHO
WILL EXAMINE THE PARTS AND WILL THEN GIVE FURTHER
INSTRUCTIONS.

2. WITH A NEW LINER, A NEW PISTON MUST BE USED.
