Abstract

Physicians are expected to be competence to make a clinical decision after considering relevant
ethical principles and theories. They should show a respectful manner, especially in their
professional behaviour, and should comply with healthcare legal provisions and professional
standards.
Important issues related with dermatological practice includes high patient expectation on result,
qualification of the providers, off label medication, unregistered medicine, unproved therapeutic
methods or technologies, tendency to business orientation, patient request versus medical
indication, and tele-practicing, tele-prescribing and artificial intelligence.

Abstrak

Dokter diharapkan memiliki kompetensi untuk membuat keputusan klinis yang etis dengan
mempertimbangkan seluruh kaidah dan teori etika yang relevan. Dokter juga diharapkan
berperilaku etis, terutama perilaku profesionalnya, serta mematuhi ketentuan hukum dan standar
profesinya.
Isu penting yang berkaitan dengan praktik dermatologi antara lain pengobatan nyang menjanjikan
hasil, kualifikasi pemberi layanan, penggunaan obat off label, obat tidak terregistrasi, metode atau
teknologi yang belum terbukti, keinginan pasien versus indikasi medis, dan praktik virtual on-line.
