2 FEATURE INFORMATION

2.1 Feature Overview

This feature introduces capability to reduce the uplink bandwidth usage in the case of Voice Calls.

It applies to the BSR Femto (4 user capable) as well as the Enterprise BSR Femto (8 user
capable)

2.2 Feature Description

Uplink bandwidth usage for 4 voice calls does not exceed 128 kbps.

Uplink bandwidth usage for 8 voice calls does not exceed 256 kbps.

Optimization of downlink bandwidth usage is out of the scope of this feature.

Optimization of bandwidth usage of other services than CS voice call is out of the scope of this
feature.

2.3 Feature Value and Benefits

Increase operator femto business opportunity by being able to deployed Femtocell with poor
broadband access.
