Dear Whomever It May Concern:

My name is Lexi Rockenbaugh and I am a 4th semester nursing student who will be graduating from the
University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in December. I am responding to the
job post for the cardiovascular ICU nursing position. My goal as a new graduate RN is to work at a Level 1
Trauma Center in and intensive care unit where I am able to build a solid nursing foundation and advance
my nursing skills and practice.

I recently completed a 5-week preceptorship in the CVICU at Banner University Medical Center and had
the opportunity to become acquainted with the pace and challenges of working on an intensive care unit.
This preceptorship allowed me to build upon my time management and prioritization skills, delegation,
collaboration and communication skills, as well as medication administration and critical thinking.

I believe I would be an ideal fit for a nursing position on the cardiovascular ICU. I strive to challenge
myself and use critical thinking to care for patients on a high acuity unit. My attention to detail and ability
to adapt to stressful situations and environments allows me to care for my patients to the best of my
ability without becoming overwhelmed. I have experience working in many team environments that
allowed me to grow my communication and interpersonal skills. I believe communication is key for
patient care and to be able to collaborate with team members on the unit.

I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss the application needs and requirements of the position with
you at your convenience. I look forward to hearing from you and appreciate your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Alexis Rockenbaugh
