set for the week during collaborative planning time.

- It is continuous – either via check lists or by observation sheets.

pencil grip and gross and fine motor skills)
4- Who developed these assessments?

- Decisions include, to focus more on skills-based activities, getting the children moving to
develop better gross motor skills and muscles as well as a math’s focus for my specific class.
9- How did you group your students? (same/different academic levels, friendship groups, similar
interests, etc.)
- According to the PYP ethos, children should be allowed the freedom of movement and choice;
I do not group children but rather reward those who are behaving well to choose their
activities first. Everyone is encouraged to move around and try all the activities when they are
ready. – no set grouping is used at this time. Eventually there will be ability grouping for
literacy, specifically phonics and reading and this will depend on children’s academic ability
and development.
10- Do the groups change for different learning subjects/ topics?
- Groups will change depending on children’s development.
