TITLE: NEST DISTRIBUTION AND REPRODUCTIVE OUTPUT OF OLIVE RIDLEY TURTLES (Lepidochelys
olivacea) IN BRGY. LABAC, NAIC, CAVITE

SIGNIFICANCE: Different marine turtles are classified as threatened under the IUCN Red List of Species.
As a conservation effort, the nesting sites of marine turtles are placed under protection to increase the
survivability of their hatchlings as much as possible. This seminar aims to raise awareness about the
significance of marine turtles and conservation efforts done on a community scale to aid in the declining
population trend of the said species.

OBJECTIVES: This study looks into the factors that affect the reproductive output and survival of olive
ridley turtles and aims to: map the spatial distribution of Lepidochelys olivacea nests in the study site;
record the reproductive output of Lepidochelys olivacea based on its clutch size; and establish the
relationship between environmental parameters (nesting density, sand temperature, and presence of
vegetation) to the nesting locations and reproductive output of Lepidochelys olivacea.
