Research Assistant, Altpeter Lab of Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology Fall 2017 – Spring 2018

Worked alongside researchers, assisting with microbiology-related functions for 15 hours a week. Heavy emphasis on doing
work while maintaining aseptic conditions. Typical responsibilities include plant tissue subculturing, barley seed selection,
seedling management, assistance with PCR and other DNA extraction methods, as well as other general lab assistance.

Volunteer, Pediatric Intensive Cardiac Unit (DREAMS) Summer 2017

Duties include cleaning and organization of the unit, as well as watching and assisting RNs and hospital technicians with care
of young patients in the PICU. Gained valuable hospital floor experience, including medical field etiquette and HIPAA
training. Major emphasis on the importance of social interaction within the context of medical professions.
