CHINA´S CULTURAL HERITAGES

Good morning everyone, my name is Mirla Cueva. I´d like to introduce my

classmates Elizabeth Camacho and David Mallqui. Today, we are going to talk
about two cultural heritages of China. We have divided our presentation into five
parts.

Let´s begin with, we will say that China is located in the Asian continent, Beijing is
its capital city. It is a city known for being a leader in technology and science.
Moreover, it has 1.415 million inhabitants, for that reason, this country is known as
the most populated country in the world.

Now, I would like to move on to the first point, I am going to talk about two cultural
heritages of China, these are: The Great Wall of China and the Imperial Palace of
Beijing. These sites are very famous for their history and culture. Because of this,
the number of visitors grows every year.

At this point, I´d like to hand over to my classmate Elizabeth Camacho.

The second point is The Great Wall of China; this site was built 220 years B.C. during
the Qin Dynasty. It was created as a military defense system and it was built by
80,000 workers. In addition, this site was more than 21 kilometers long, 7 meters
high and 5 meters wide. Also, it was declared cultural heritage of the world on
December 7, 1987 by UNESCO.

Let's now move on to the third point, I am going to talk about the number of people
who visited The Great Wall of China in the last 5 years.
This line graph shows the number of visitors in the last 5 years (2013-2017), the
horizontal axis shows the number of years and the vertical axis indicates how many
people visited the Great Wall of China. As you can see, the number of visitors starts at
16,007,325 and increased from 2013 to 2014. The number of visitors grew significantly
by 26,013,412 between 2014 and 2015. During (2016-2017) there was a significant
growth in the number of visitors with a peak of 32,988,092. According to the trend, we
can say there will be a relevant growth of number of visitors in 2018.

At this point, I´d like to hand over to my classmate David Mallqui.

The fourth point is The Imperial Palace of Beijing; it is called “The forbidden city”,
because to enter there you must have the authorization of the emperor, this site was
built between (1406-1420) during the Ming Dynasty. Moreover, it has four main
doors, 90 palaces, 980 roads and 6704 rooms. In addition, it was declared world
cultural heritage in May 1987 by UNESCO.

Let's now move on to the fifth point, I am going to talk about the number of people
who visited The Imperial Palace of Beijing in the last 5 years.

This line graph shows the number of visitors in the last 5 years (2013-2017), the horizontal
axis shows the number of years and the vertical axis indicates how many people visited
The Imperial Palace of Beijing. As you can see, the number of visitors increased steadily
from 2013 to 2015. The number of visitors grew significantly by 12,489,676 between 2013
and 2015. The number of visitors remained constant during (2015-2016). There was a
significant growth in the number of visitors between 2016 and 2017. According to the trend,
we can say there will be a relevant growth of visitors in 2018.

So, to sum up, in our opinion, the Great Wall of China is the most visited heritage in
China, due to its history and culture as a result of this every year the number of
visitors increases.

Thank you for listening.
