FALL 2018 FRESHMAN POL SCHEDULE

EXPECTATIONS
● You attend the same session for 2 consecutive days with your cohort.
o You present on 1 or both of these 2 days; presentation order is random, so you must be prepared to present at any time.
o If students are late to their POL session, their POL Accountability grade will lower.
o You must be in ​professional dress​​ at all times during your POL session.
o You attend either the AM session (8:00-11:45) or the PM session (12:15-4:00).
● No schedule changes will be permitted.
● If your parent would like to attend your POL, they must email the ​SPECIFIC POL​​ teacher ​BEFORE​​ your first POL day in that class.
That teacher will ensure that you are the first person of the session to present.

IF YOU NEED TO BE DROPPED OFF EARLY OR PICKED UP LATE, YOU WILL STAY IN YOUR ASSIGNED ROOM AND OBSERVE POLS
● If you are assigned an afternoon POL but need to be dropped off at 8 AM, you will report to your afternoon POL room when you
arrive and observe the morning cohort’s POLs
● If you are assigned a morning POL but need to be picked up after 12:15 PM, you will return to the same POL room after lunch to
observe the afternoon cohort’s POLs

GRADING
● If a student fails a POL, their grade for that ESK will turn into a Fail. The student will not necessarily fail the whole class.
● If a student does not present a POL, they will automatically fail the entire class.
● Students will also receive a Pass/Fail credit for a separate class called “POLs.” (This does show up on your transcript.)
○ In order to pass this class, students need to pass at least 4 POLs

By signing this, I understand and agree to the expectations laid out above. I understand that I am responsible for preparing for my POLs and
will therefore accept the grade that I earn on my POL.
