Type of Service: Philanthropy Event – Raising money for Service for Sight

Describe your service activities: Leading up to the event I helped promote by using the marketing
materials created for Backyard BBQ and posting them on all my social media platforms, sell tickets, sell
t-shirts, and just promote the event as much as possible. I also donated items that would either be used
during the dinner portion of the event or décor used during the event. On the day of the event, I arrived
one hour early and made sure the Vice President Foundation and her directors had everything in place
before guests began arriving. Once it was time for the event to start I was off to greet guests and take
their tickets or sell tickets to anyone that needed to buy at the door.

Purpose of Event: The purpose of Backyard BBQ is to promote awareness and raise money for our
national philanthropy, Service For Sight, which serves those with visual impairments.
