Templates for Weekly Plans during Placement 7:

Week One
Main Activities:
I’m doing my teaching practice this semester in Al Darari kindergarten. On the first week I collected some
important data from MST and school. I talked with MST about my teaching practice tasks, we exchanged
numbers and emails. MST showed me where I can find the class schedule. Since my class didn’t have an English
teacher, on the first weak MST (Arabic teacher) asked me to start with reading some stories for the students. I
asked the English teachers to send me the curriculum and we discussed about the things I can teach and so on.
MST told me that I can teach nearly every day because they didn’t have the English teacher, and she asked me
to read stories every Monday and Wednesday.
Things I do every day:
1. Help MST with snack & lunch time.
2. Being responsible for one activity every day.
3. Teaching days of the week.
4. Reading story (every two days – Monday & Wednesday)
5. Taking students to the waiting room.
Schedule for Week One activities:
Day 1 On the first day, I sat with MST and discussed the tasks and others things I’m supposed to do during
TP. MST introduced me to the students as their new English teacher. Since I have been with Ms.
Moza (MST) before, we had a good relationship to start with and she started including me in the
class. During her activities, she asked me to stay with one group and help them if needed, and from
that day on I was responsible for the same type of activity which is the (art) one, so on daily basis, I
will always stay with that group.
When meeting with the principal, she said that since the MOE didn’t give them the permission yet
for their new English teacher, she gave us (my colleague Aisha and I) the responsibility to teach the
students English during our time in school.
Day 2 On the second day I did the following things:
1. Helping MST during the class.
2. Helping the (Art) group.
3. Asking the English teachers about the theme for this week (animals).
4. I searched for an English story in the English resource room, after that, I read the story (Dear
Zoo) to the students.
5. Since it was the first English lesson in my class, I thought this story will be good and helpful to
introduce students to English language and animals.
6. I followed the story with a few questions. (students loved the story and asked me to read it again)
7. While going home, MST took the bus students and I took the cars students to the waiting room.
8. After classes, I stayed with MST and helped her in the class by organizing students’ work for
today, writing their names, putting their work in the files, etc.
Day 3 I did the following things:
1. Doing the morning routine in English (days, attendance, weather, etc.)
2. During the Arabic activities time, MST worked with one group and I took another group outside
the class.
3. Taking each group one at a time outside the class (there are some shapes drawn on the floor) I
took the students there and started teaching them about shapes and mentioning few colors.
4. While going home, MST took the bus students and I took the cars students to the waiting room.
5. After classes, I will always stay with MST and help her in the class by organizing students’ work
for today, putting their work in the files, cutting, preparing for next day, etc.
Day 4 I did the following things:
1. During the Arabic activities time, MST worked with one group and I took another group outside
the class.
2. Taking each group one at a time outside the class to explore and learn about different colors.
3. While going home, MST took the bus students and I took the cars students to the waiting room.
4. After classes, I will always stay with MST and help her in the class by organizing students’ work
for today, putting their work in the files, cutting, preparing for next day, etc.
