Granting the Chartered Engineers’ Allowance to the Engineering Professionals in order to

promote Public Sector Development Activities by way of recruiting Engineering Graduates
to the Engineering Service

02. A decision has been made at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on 30.01.2018 to
pay an allowance to Chartered Engineers in Sri Lanka Engineering Service based on their service
from 01.02.2018 in the following manner.

Period of service Monthly allowance

Officers with an active service of less than 10 years Rs. 15,000/-

Officers with an active service of 11 to 20 years Rs. 20,000/-

Officers with an active service of 21 to 25 years Rs. 25,000/-

Officers with an active service of more than 25 years Rs. 30,000/-
