Title/Focus

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson students will be able to:
1. Students will understand the rules for shooting
2. Students will be able to position themselves to get the rebound
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT
 Balls
 Cones
 Rebound surfaces
PREPARATION AND LOGISTICAL CONSIDERATIONS
 Pull out all the equipment before the first class

PROCEDURE
Introduction Time
 After students are changed, they will come into the gym and walk around
the basketball
10 min
 After 5 minutes we will blow a whistle, and students will go straight
away into their module groups
Body Time
Intro 1) Have students in first class help set up the
rebound surfaces
2) Review of passing
3) How do you score point? Ball must land outside
5 min
of the forbidden zone
4) To score a point, a player needs to throw the ball
off the rebound surface in a way that the other
team is not able to catch it
Shooting lines 1) Students will be in 2 lines 5 min
2) The first student will shoot the ball, and the first
student in the other line has to catch the rebound
3) The person that shoots, goes to the back of the
other line, and then the rebounder shoots
4) After the rebounder shoots, they will go to the
back of the line
5) Students must be aware of the angle the shooter
is coming in at, and also how hard the shooter
throwing the ball
6) After a few minutes, stop students and have them
trying to shoot from different angles and
distances.
Shooting 1) Students will be in small groups, and will number
practice themselves off
2) When number 1 bounces the ball off the rebound
surface, number 2 has to catch it. When number 2
shoots, number 3 has to catch it, etc
3) If a student does not catch the ball off of the 10 min
rebound, they will do 5 jumping jacks before
getting back into the game
4) Students don’t need to stand in any particular
order, just where they think they will have the
best chance of catching the rebound
Shooting game 1) Students will be in teams of 3 or 4
2) There will be 2 teams at each rebound surface
3) Students need to make 3 passes before their team

4) The other team must try to catch the rebound
5) Teams must keep track of their score
Conclusion Time
 Review of what we focused on that day
 Students are dismissed, and can go get change 5 min
