This project helped me to understand more of what Geology is, by having to find what place you
would be searching and what type of evidence you should be looking for and once you find that
place you can see what is there on that land you notice the types of different rocks, landform,
mountain range, and indents to the mountains and know how that was formed overtime.
Because I really did not know what all of Geology entailed, it was somewhat difficult for me to
know what I was really looking for even after doing some research on what I had decide to do
The Point of the Mountain turn out to move more toward the Bonneville shoreline that I
ended up doing for my research paper, this became very interesting on how Lake Bonneville
was formed and how the Bonneville shoreline was also formed, as for the Point of the Mountain
it was formed off the Bonneville shoreline. Lake Bonneville was a huge lake that had existed
about 13,000 to 30,000 years ago. About 18,000 years ago a shift of wetter and colder
conditions in the last Ice Age triggered Lake Bonneville’s expansion of immense volume of
water. Then the climate changed to warmer and drier conditions causing the lake to shrink.
Which then Lake Bonneville shoreline did dried up and land developers have built on the some
of the land and for the Point of the Mountain on the far west end of the eastern section is a hot
