WILDLIFE GENETICS LAB TECHINITIAN | UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO | AUGUST 27TH 2018 –
PRESENT
Work involves extraction of DNA from wildlife samples. Extremely close attention to detail as well as
constant cleanliness is required to produce quality extractions. Job requires the use of lab equipment
including centrifuges, vortex machines, fume hoods, heat blocks, and micropipettes. Work also
encompasses regular handing of hazardous chemicals.

WILDLIFE TECHNITIAN | USDA FOREST SERVICE | MAY 14TH – AUGUST 17TH 2018
This job required regular surveying and data collection of various birds including owls and goshawks. The
surveying included nest checks and broadcast calling. The internship demanded physical work out in the
field in sometimes strenuous conditions.

FORESTRY TECHNICIAN| UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO PITKIN FOREST NURSERY | OCTOBER 31ST –


MAY 12TH 2017
Duties include monitoring, sorting, bagging, and transporting tree seedlings; sowing and transplanting
seeds; and manual labor such as heavy lifting, loading, and moving carts and dollies.

Duties included handling money and credit cards (computer program), communicating with team
members and customers; and serving the correct, complete order to customers in a timely manner.

Duties included handling money and credit cards, customer service and food handling, being available to
fill in for other team members on short notice, and training newly hired employees. Job required high

Volunteer Experience
WILDLIFE SOCIETY OF UNIVERSITY OF IDAH0 SEPTEMBER – DECEMBER 2017 – Volunteer service included
visiting WSU’s Ungulate Facility, worked with University technicians installing Kestrel boxes to improve
nesting habitat conditions around campus, and clean-up projects.

FOREST SERVICE & BLM 2008- 2017


Numerous trail maintenance, trailhead, campground and other recreational site clean-up projects on
national forest land, sign installation, and assisting Fish and Game with trapping/placing collars on Sage
Grouse.
CONGRESSIONAL INTERNSHIP JUNE – AUGUST 2014
Internship for Idaho Congressman Richard Stallings’s. Worked on multiple projects, including the re-
election campaign. Work included attending rallies, phone canvasing, creating on-line advertising, and
hands-on event planning.

PORTNUEF VALLEY ENVIRONMENTAL FAIR- EARTH DAY 2007 – 2014


Volunteered annually at the Pocatello Environmental Fair for the US Forest Service working at the Forest
Service/BLM information booth; experience included interacting with people on public land issues,
handing out maps, brochures and answering questions about recreational areas and opportunities.

UNICEF DONATION COLLECTION SEPTEMBER 2013- SEPTEMBER 2014


As part of the National Honors Society, participated in collecting donations for UNICEF to support
humanitarian issues for children in need worldwide.

Wildlife Intern Experience


 Provided knowledge and support for the Caribou-Targhee National Forest wildlife program
 Conducted broadcast acoustical surveys for Northern Goshawks, Great Grey Owls,
flammulated owls and boreal owls at both project and forest levels.
 Completed habitat assessment for Northern Goshawks, Great Grey Owls, flammulated owls
and boreal owls to assist in NEPA level analysis.
 Conducted peregrine and prairie falcon eyrie monitoring for project and forest levels.
 Conducted nest checks to determine breeding activity and success of active nests in Northern
Goshawk territories.
 Compiled field notes, completed data sheets, and data entry for project level surveys.
 Utilized Garmin GPS units (Rhino, eTrex, GPS Map) for field navigation and taking waypoints
for field observations.
 Utilized DNR Garmin to transfer broadcast call points from GIS shapefiles to Garmin GPS units.

Other Experience

Outdoorswoman Experience operating 4-wheel drive vehicles and OHVs on rough high-clearance
roads in various conditions, backpacking, hunting, and fishing in rugged terrain in sometimes
strenuous conditions. Starting at a young age my family has been very active in the outdoors during all
seasons of the year. I am passionate about the outdoors and have an extensive amount of outdoor
experience and have been mentored by my Mother who was a Forest Service Firefighter and currently a
Recreation Program Manager and my Father who is a retired school teacher (Science and Art) and is an
avid hunter and fisherman.

Caya Program (April 2017) As a student in one of my environmental classes, I was assigned 5 Central
American high school students to show them around the Moscow food co-op as well as campus. This
included answering any questions they had and providing general information about what they were
being shown.

Trouveres Choir (April 2014-May 2016) Being part of the Trouveres choir I was expected to attend
practice as early as 6 a.m. every day before school. I was also chosen to assemble a group of people
(including myself) to perform a number for our cabaret show, this included choosing a song to perform
and rallying the group to get together and practice.

National Honors Society (September 2014-September 2015) To become a member of the National
Honors Society you must have a 3.5 GPA or higher, attend monthly meetings, and perform a certain
amount of volunteer hours per trimester.

Yearbook Editor (March 2015-May 2015) My teacher selected me to be a yearbook editor based on my
graphic and photography skills. Responsibilities included selecting themes for sections of the yearbook,
attending school events to take pictures, and making sure other students were on task and meeting
expectations.

Volleyball (September 2012-December 2012) I was a participant of a club volleyball team which
required regular attendance to practice, physical conditioning, teamwork skills, and being responsible for
our own transportation to tournaments.

Dog Watching (2010-2012) Two dog-owning neighbors would pay me to be responsible for their dogs
while they were away on vacation for no longer than a week or so. I was given a house key and was
trusted to feed them twice a day as well as walk them, play with them, and pick up their droppings.

Cheerleading (September 2011-May 2012) In 8th grade I was selected to be a part of my middle school
cheerleading team where we were expected to attend all sports events and early morning practices,
maintain prime physical condition, and lead a good example in our academics.

Horseback Riding (June 2005-September 2011) When I was very young I became acquainted with
horses and horseback riding. I have hunted big game on horseback and have a fair amount of experience
with trail riding.

Skills & Abilities
Proficient with ATV/UTV operation, operating four-wheel drive vehicles on unimproved roads, operating
and navigating 25 ft. ocean boat, marine GPS, marine VHF radio, lawn mowers, loppers, handsaws,
motorized weed-eaters, shovels, and rakes. Have done minor construction of fences and decks using
hammers, motorized drill and skill saws. Extensive map reading with some cartography skills. Computer
skills include Microsoft word, Microsoft power point, Photoshop (page layout with text). Graphic abilities
include free-hand sketching, color work and photography (High School Art and Advanced Art with pieces
shown in local galleries)

INTERESTS
I am an upland and big game hunter and enjoy fresh-water/salt-water fishing; bird-dog training, hiking,
and outdoor photography.
