Green Festival – Edicioni i 3-të
Festivali i Gjelbër është ngjarja më e rëndësishëm në Kosovë
e energjisë së gjelbër. Këtu kompanitë e sektorit të energjisë
mblidhen së bashku për të ndarë praktikat e qëndrueshme
mjedisore që korrespondojnë me qëllimet globale për një am-
bient më ekologjik. Festivali synon të promovojë bizneset e
energjisë së gjelbër në Kosovë dhe krijim të vazhdueshëm të
vendeve të punës, të nxisë përmirësimet e nevojshme ligjore
dhe rregullative për mjedisin e biznesit të gjelbër, dhe të rrisë
ndërgjegjësimin e publikut për përfitimet e adoptimit të te-
knologjive të gjelbra.
Edicioni i tretë i Festivalit të Gjelbër mbahet nga 19 deri më 21
shtator 2018, në sallën e sportit “1 Tetori” në Prishtinë. Mbi
40 kompani do të ekspozojnë produktet e tyre të prodhuara në
Kosovë gjatë aktivitetit 3-ditor në Pavijonin e Gjelbër për të pro-
movuar një të ardhme më të qëndrueshme mjedisore. Ekspertët
ndërkombëtarë dhe vendorë do të marrin pjesë në Forumet e Gjel-
bra për të ndarë njohuritë dhe përvojat e tyre me publikun dhe
të flasin për tendencat botërore në riciklimin, energjinë diellore,
efiçiencë të energjisë dhe rëndësinë e energjisë së gjelbër. Përveç
kësaj, një sërë aktivitetesh paralele që do të tërheqin njerëz të të
gjitha moshave do të mbahen me temën e energjisë së gjelbër
Duke marrë parasysh që sektori i energjisë së gjelbër është
ende në zhvillim e sipër në Kosovë, ky sektor paraqet mundësi
të konsiderueshme për rritje ekonomike dhe krijim të vendeve
të reja të punës. Vitin e kaluar, në edicionin e dytë të Festi-
valit të Gjelbër, 23 kompanitë pjesëmarrëse në pavijonin e
gjelbër realizuan mbi 1.3 milion euro shitje gjatë tre ditëve
të festivalit. Gjithashtu, 13 nga 25 folës në edicionin e vitit
të kaluar ishin nga organizata ndërkombëtare të energjisë së
ripërtëritshme me renome, siç janë “Solar Power”, “IRENA”,
“DNVGL” dhe “AEG.” Pjesëmarrja dhe interesimi i madh për
festivalin në edicionet paraprake tregon që kosovarët vlerëso-
jnë dobitë e energjisë së ripërtëritshmë dhe janë të gatshëm
për të aplikuar në masë më të madhe teknologjitë moderne të
kësaj fushe në shtëpitë dhe bizneset e tyre.
Edicioni i 3-të i Festivalit të Gjelbër organizohet nga USAID
EMPOWER Sektori Privat në partneritet me Sida – Agjencia
Suedeze për Zhvillim dhe Bashkëpunim Ndërkombëtar dhe
Klubi i Prodhuesve të Kosovës si dhe mbështetet nga GIZ, Am-
basada Holandeze në Kosovë, ProCredit Bank, TEB ShA dhe
GEFF në Kosovë.

GREEN FESTIVAL – 3RD EDITION
The Green Festival is the most significant green energy event in
Kosovo where stakeholders gather together to share environ-
mentally-friendly practices that correspond to global goals for
a more ecological environment. The Festival aims to promote
Kosovo green energy businesses and consequent job creation,
stimulate needed legal and regulatory improvements for the
green business environment, and to increase public awareness
of the benefits of adopting green technologies.
The third edition of the Green Festival will take place from
September 19th to 21st, 2018, at the 1 Tetori Sports Hall in
Prishtina. Over 40 companies will display their Kosovo-made
green energy products during the 3-day event at the Green
Pavilion to promote a more sustainable environmental future.
International and local experts will participate in the Green Fo-
rums to share their knowledge and experiences with the public
and talk about world trends in recycling, solar energy, energy
efficiency, and the importance of green energy. In addition, a
variety of Parallel Activities will be held within the green ener-
gy theme that will attract people of all ages.
The green energy sector is still under development in Kosovo,
however, this sector presents considerable opportunities for
economic growth and job creation. Last year at the 2nd edition
of the Green Festival, 23 participating companies created over
1.3m euros of sales during the three days of the event. Further-
more, 13 out of 25 speakers in the last year’s edition were from
renowned international renewable energy organizations, such
as Solar Power, IRENA, DNVGL, and AEG. The high turnout
and interest in the first two editions of the Green Festival show
that Kosovars appreciate the benefits of renewable energy and
energy efficiency and are ready to apply to a greater extent
modern technology of this field in their homes and businesses.
The 3rd edition of the Green Festival is organized by USAID
EMPOWER Private Sector in partnership with the Swedish
Agency for International Cooperation and Development (Sida)
and the Kosovo Manufacturers Club (KMC), and supported by
GIZ, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, ProCredit
Bank, TEB, and GEFF.
Energjia e Gjelbër në Kosovë
Sipas një vlerësimi të nën-sektorëve të energjisë në sektorit
privat, të realizuar nga projekti i USAID EMPOWER Sektori
Privat, tregu i përgjithshëm për burimet e ripërtërishme të en-
ergjisë, duke përfshirë biomasën, energjinë diellore, materialet
dhe elementet ndërtimore me efikasitet energjetik, në vitin
2016 ishte 104 milionë euro. Megjithatë, vetëm 32 milionë
euro (31%) të këtij konsumimi u prodhuan në vend, ndërsa 72
milion (69%) u importuan. Iniciativa të tilla si Festivali i Gjel-
bër synojnë të rrisin prodhimin, konsumin dhe përdorimin e
zgjidhjeve të energjisë së gjelbër të bëra nga Kosova.
Biomasa e Drurit
Biomasa përgjithësisht i referohet çdo lënde organike – dru,
bimë, alga deti, mbeturina shtazore, që mund të përdoren si
burim energjie. Energjia e biomasës apo bioenergjia jo vetëm
që na jep burim të ripërtërishëm të energjisë për të ngrohur
shtëpitë tona e për të prodhuar energji elektrike, por ndihmon
edhe që të zvogëlojmë në masë të madhe emetimin e gazrave
me efekt serre. Në Kosovë, ka një spektër të gjerë të biomasës
drunore që është e përshtatshme për transformim në energji,
si drutë e zjarrit dhe mbetjet e pylltarisë, mbetjet nga industria
drunore dhe biomasa drunore e përpunuar, si tallashi, peleti
dhe briketi. Industria në Kosovë përfshin prodhues të pelet-
it dhe briketit, por edhe prodhues të pajisjeve për biomasë
drunore (stufa e bojlerë).
Biomasa paraqet mundësi të mëdha për të zëvendësuar im-
portet në Kosovë, me rritjen e prodhimit vendas dhe krijimin e
vendeve të punës. Vlera e përgjithshme e tregut të biomasës së
drurit (stufa / kaldaja, briket dhe pelet) për vitin 2017 ishte 30
milion €, prej të cilave 18.5 milion € janë importuar dhe 11.2
milion € janë prodhuar në vend. Vlera totale e tregut të peletit,
duke përfshirë importet dhe ato të prodhuara në vend, u rrit
nga 2.46 milionë euro në 2014 në 18.76 milionë euro në 2017-
një rritje prej më shumë se 660% (USAID EMPOWER Sektori
Privat, 2018). Rritja e konsumit të peletit gjatë kësaj periudhe,
e cila arriti në 100,000 ton, e vë në pah Kosovën si tregun me
rritjen më të shpejtë në Evropë. Në vitin 2017, një prodhues
lokal i biomasës u certifikua me ENPlus Standard, një njohje
ndërkombëtare e produkteve të kualitetit të lartë të biomasës
së drurit.
GREEN ENERGY IN KOSOVO
According to an assessment of private-sector energy clusters
carried out by the USAID EMPOWER Private Sector project,
the overall market for renewable energy sources, including
biomass, solar energy, energy-efficient building materials and
elements, in 2016 was €104 million. However, only €32 million
(31%) of this consumption was domestically produced, while
€72 million (69%) was imported. Initiatives such as the Green
Festival aim to increase the production, consumption and use
of Kosovo-made green energy solutions.
Wood Biomass
Biomass casually refers to any organic matter – wood, crops,
seaweed, animal wastes that can be used as an energy source.
Biomass energy or bioenergy not only gives us a renewable
source of energy to heat our homes, power our vehicles and
produce electricity, but it helps to significantly reduce green-
house gas emissions. In Kosovo, there is a wide range of woody
biomass that is suitable for conversion to energy, such as fuel-
wood and forestry residues, residues from the wood industry
and processed woody biomass like wood chips, pellets, and
briquettes. The industry in Kosovo grasps pellet and briquette
producers and wood biomass appliances producers (stoves and
boilers).
Biomass has significant opportunities to replace imports in
Kosovo, with increased domestic production and job creation.
The overall market value of the wood biomass cluster (stoves/
boilers, briquette and pellet) for 2017 was €30 million, of which
€18.5 million was imported and €11.2 million was produced
domestically. The total value of pellets, including imports and
those domestically produced, increased from €2.46 million in
2014 to €18.76 million in 2017—an increase of more than
660% (USAID EMPOWER Private Sector, 2018). The increase
in pellet consumption during this period, which amounted to
100,000 tons, highlights Kosovo as the fastest-growing market
for pellets in Europe. In 2017, a local biomass producer was
certified with the ENPlus Standard, an international recogni-
tion of high-quality wood biomass products.

Efiçiencë e Eenergjisë
Termi “efiçiencë e energjisë” shpesh përdoret për të përshkruar
çdo lloj mase që kursen energjinë. Efiçienca e energjisë është
njëra prej mënyrave më të lehta dhe më efektive në kuptimin
e kostos për të luftuar ndryshimet klimatike, për të pastruar
ajrin që thithim, për të ulur kostot e prodhimit për bizneset
tona, si dhe për të zvogëluar shpenzimet e energjisë për konsu-
matorë. Viteve të fundit kërkesa për prodhime efiçiente është
rritur dukshëm në Kosovë.
Akterë të rëndësishëm në Kosovë në fushën e efiçiencës së en-
ergjisë janë edhe prodhuesit e materialeve izoluese dhe prod-
huesit e pajisjeve termo-teknike, të fokusuar në ftohje, ngrohje
dhe ventilim.
Vlera totale e tregut të kllastereve të efiçiencës së energjisë
(ngjyra, lakra, fasada, rrjetë fasade dhe stiropor) për vitin
2016 ishte 61.8 milionë euro, prej të cilave 40.8 milion euro
janë importuar dhe 21 milion euro janë prodhuar në vend. Im-
porti i ngjyrave, llaqeve dhe fasadave është rritur vazhdimisht
me kalimin e kohës duke përfshirë një rritje prej 7.8% në vitin
2016 krahasuar me vitin 2015. Duke pasur parasysh vlerën e
importeve prej 33.16 milionë euro për këto produkte në vitin
2016, ekziston një mundësi e mirë për të zëvendësuar importet
me produkte vendore. Përkundrazi, prodhimi vendas i polister-
olit për vitin 2016 mbuloi 81% të tregut me 10.73 milionë euro
nga vlera e përgjithshme e tregut prej 13.12 milionë eurosh
(USAID EMPOWER Sektori Privat, 2018).
Energjia Solare
Energjia Solare është energjia nga dielli që transformohet në en-
ergji termike apo elektrike. Teknologjia moderne e paneleve so-
lare shfrytëzon këtë energji për një numër përdorimesh, si pro-
dhimi i energjisë elektrike, ngrohja e ujit për qëllime shtëpiake,
komerciale apo industriale, si dhe ventilim me energji diellore.
Me një mesatare prej 285 ditësh me diell dhe mbi 2.000 orë
diell në vit, Kosova ka potencial të madh të energjisë diellore
(PV Magazine International, 2017), madje më të lartë se shteti
i Gjermanisë. Si një nga burimet më të bollshme të energjisë
së rinovueshme, energjia diellore është gjithashtu një burim
premtues për Kosovën, siç vërehet nga themelimi i prodhuesit
të parë të paneleve diellore fotovoltaike në vend dhe formimi
i një numri të kompanive të instalimit të paneleve diellore. Në
2016 dhe 2017 u prodhuan më shumë se 20,100 panele diellore
fotovoltaike (PV). Në vitin 2017, prodhimi vendor i paneleve
diellore PV u rrit me 923%, në vlerë prej 2.16 milionë euro në
vlerë ose 72% të tregut total. Instalimet e PV janë rritur nd-

Energy Efficiency
The term ‘energy efficiency’ is often used as a shorthand to
describe any kind of energy-saving measure. Energy efficiency
is one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to combat
climate change, clean the air we breathe, improve the compet-
itiveness of our businesses, and reduce energy costs for con-
sumers.
There is increased demand for energy-efficient products in
Kosovo in recent years. Important stakeholders in Kosovo in
regard to energy efficiency include insulation-material produc-
ers, thermal-technical equipment producers focused in cool-
ing-heating and ventilation. The total market value of energy
efficiency clusters (paints, lacquers, facades, fiberglass mesh
and Styrofoam) for 2016 was €61.8 million, of which €40.8
million was imported and €21 million was produced domes-
tically. The import of paints, lacquers and facades has steadily
increased over time, including a 7.8% increase in 2016 com-
pared to 2015. Given the value of imports at €33.16 million for
these products in 2016, there is a good market opportunity to
substitute imports with local products. On the contrary, the
domestic production of Styrofoam for 2016 covered 81% of the
market at €10.73 million out of a total market value of €13.12
million (USAID EMPOWER Private Sector, 2018).
Solar Energy
Solar Power is energy from the sun that is transformed into
thermal or electrical energy. Modern technology of solar pan-
els harnesses this energy for a variety of uses such as gener-
ating electricity, heating water for domestic, commercial, or
industrial use, and solar powered ventilation.
With an average of 285 sunny days and over 2,000 hours of sun
per year, Kosovo has great solar energy potential (PV Magazine
International, 2017)—even higher than that of Germany. As
one of the most abundant sources of renewable energy, solar
power is a promising source for Kosovo too, as highlighted by
the establishment of the country’s first solar panel manufac-
turer and the formation of a number of solar panel installation
companies. More than 20,100 photovoltaic (PV) solar panels
were produced locally in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, local produc-
tion of PV solar panels increased by 923%, amounting to €2.16
million in value or 72% of the total market. PV installations
have also increased substantially: 2.454 MW were installed in
2017 compared to 0.236 MW installed in 2014. Total capacity
installed between 2014 and 2017 is 4.52 MW, suggesting an

Riciklimi
Riciklimi është procesi i nxjerrjes dhe ripërpunimit të mate-
rialeve që ndryshe do të konsideroheshin mbeturina. Ky pro-
ces zvogëlon sasinë e mbeturinave që dërgohen në deponi dhe
incineratorë. Materialet që mund të riciklohen, qofshin ato
plastikë, letër, qelq e të tjera dërgohen në një qendër grum-
bulluese apo thjesht mblidhen nga rrugët, pastaj klasifikohen,
pastrohen, si dhe ripërpunohen për t’u bërë materiale të reja që
shfrytëzohen për prodhim, siç edhe vihet në pah nga kompan-
itë e ndryshme të Kosovës me profil riciklimi.
Përafërsisht 580,000 ton mbetje (0.9 kg / ditë, për kokë ba-
nori) gjenerohen në Kosovë në vit, nga të cilat 72% (420,000
ton) mblidhen. Më shumë se 85% e mbeturinave të mbledhura
dërgohen në deponi (Agjencia Kosovare për Mbrojtjen e Mje-
disit, 2018). Në 2017, 700 ton mbeturina të sheshta të qelqit
u ricikluan nga një kompani që prodhon pllaka të mozaikut të
qelqit. Tregu i përgjithshëm për pllakat mozaike të qelqit u rrit
në mënyrë të qëndrueshme midis 2014 dhe 2016, me një vlerë
të përgjithshme prej € 442,000 në 2016. Më shumë se 63% e
këtyre pllakave është prodhuar në vend. Granulat dhe regran-
ulat e prodhuara nga procesi i riciklimit plastik kishin një vlerë
totale tregu prej 21.30 milion euro në 2016, nga të cilat 11.5%
u prodhuan në vend. Kjo krahasohet me vlerën e vitit 2014 prej
17.05 milionë eurosh, nga të cilat vetëm 10% janë prodhuar në
vend (USAID EMPOWER Sektori Privat, 2018).
Era
Energjia e erës është burim i ripërtëritshëm i energjisë që prod-
hon energjinë elektrike nga shfrytëzimi i erës me mullinj ere
apo turbina ere. Turbinat ndihmojnë që të konvertohet energ-
jia kinetike e erës në energji mekanike, ndërsa me anë të gjen-
eratorit, ajo energji mekanike konvertohet në energji elektrike.
Në Kosovë, kompanitë aktualisht janë duke instaluar një cen-
tral të erës me fuqi 32.4 MW në “KITKA”, si shtesë e 1.35 MW
të instaluar tashmë në Golesh.

Recycling
Recycling is the process of extracting and reprocessing mate-
rials that otherwise would be considered waste. It reduces the
amount of waste sent to landfills and combustion facilities.
Materials to be recycled be those plastic, paper, glass, and oth-
ers are either brought to a collection center or picked up from
the curbside, then sorted, cleaned, and reprocessed into new
materials bound for manufacturing.
Approximately 580,000 tons of waste (0.9 kg/day, per capita)
are generated in Kosovo per year, of which 72% (420,000 tons)
is collected. More than 85% of the collected waste is sent to
landfills (Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency, 2018). In
2017, 700 tons of flat glass waste were recycled by a compa-
ny that produces glass mosaic tiles. The total market for glass
mosaic tiles steadily increased between 2014 and 2016, with
an overall value of €442,000 in 2016. More than 63% of this
was produced domestically. Granules and regranules produced
from the plastic recycling process had a total market value of
€21.30 million in 2016, of which 11.5% was domestically pro-
duced. This is compared to 2014’s value of €17.05 million, of
which only 10% was domestically produced (USAID EMPOWER
Private Sector, 2018).
Wind
Wind energy is a renewable energy source that obtains electri-
cal energy from harnessing wind with windmills or wind tur-
bines. The turbines help to convert the kinetic energy in the
wind into mechanical power, and by the use of the generator
that mechanical power is converted into electricity. In Kosovo,
companies are currently installing 32.4 MW of wind power fa-
cilities, which will be located in wind park “KITKA,” in addition
to 1.35 MW already installed in Golesh.

Hidro
Hidro-energjia është energji elektrike e prodhuar duke
shfrytëzuar ujërat lëvizës. Është burim i pastër i energjisë,
që ripërtërihet çdo vit me borë e shi. Si burim i energjisë, hi-
dro-energjia është e lehtësisht e shfrytëzueshme, pasi që in-
xhinierët mund të kontrollojnë rrjedhën e ujit në turbina për
të prodhuar energji elektrike sipas kërkesës. Ekzistojnë disa
hidrocentrale (HPP) që veprojnë në Kosovë, të cilat janë krye-
sisht të vogla - të mesme. Hidrocentrale të tjera parashihen të
ndërtohen në vitet e ardhshme.
Green Business Kosova
Green Business është platformë online që mbledh të gjithë ak-
terët relevantë të energjisë së gjelbër në Kosovë në një vend,
qofshin ato kompani private, agjenci qeveritare, donatorë
apo të tjerë. Green Business Kosovo synon të promovojë dhe
shpërndajë njohuri mbi tema të ndryshme të energjisë së gjel-
bër siç janë efiçienca e energjisë, energjia e ripërtëritshme dhe
riciklimi. Përveç kësaj, platforma synon të informojë profe-
sionistët mbi zhvillimet e reja në energjinë e gjelbër dhe zgjidh-

Hydro
Hydropower is electricity generated using the energy of mov-
ing water. It’s a clean fuel source that is renewable yearly by
snow and rainfall. As a source of energy, hydropower is readily
available as well given that engineers can control the flow of
water through the turbines to produce electricity on demand.
There are some Hydro Power Plants (HPP) operating in Koso-
vo, which are mainly small – medium. Future small HPP’s are
foreseen to be built in the coming years.
Green Business Kosova
Green Business Kosovo is a web platform that gathers all rel-
evant green energy stakeholders in Kosovo including private
companies, government agencies, donors, and others in one
place. Green Business Kosovo seeks to promote and dissemi-
nate knowledge on the various topics of green energy such as
energy efficiency, renewable energy, and recycling. In addition,
the platform aims to inform professionals on new develop-
ments in green energy and alternative energy solutions. For

Al-Tec
Al-Tec është kompania e parë vendore e cila prodhon ushqim për qenë, mace,
dhe peshq nga mbetjet shtazore. Në Kosovë çdo ditë krijohen rreth 90 ton
mbetje me origjinë shtazore çka përbën një rrezik potencial të përhapjes së

combination of chicken manure and sawdust, EkoFarm will produce this
type of fuel pellet for the first time in Kosovo.

Polar Light
Polar Light është kompania e vetme në Kosovë që merret me prodhimin
e produkteve të teknologjisë LED. Produktet e Polar Light variojnë në dy
formate: për ambient të brendshëm (zyra pune, shtëpi) dhe për ambient
të jashtëm (rruge, parking, parqe etj.). Që nga themelimi e deri me tani,
kompania ka kryer mbi 50 projekte të mëdha të ndriçimit të hapësirave të

Polar Light is the only company in Kosovo which produces LED technology
products. Polar Light products vary in two forms: for indoor environment
(office, home) and outdoor environment (roads, parking, parks, etc.). Since
its establishment the company has completed 50 major lighting projects of
various areas. The company’s products have longer lifespan than ordinary
lights and less energy consumption.

REKS LLC planifikon të jetë një nga kompanitë më të mëdha të riciklimit të
plastikës në Ballkanin Perëndimor. Kompania do të kombinojë ciklin e plotë
të riciklimit të plastikës nga grumbullimi i mbeturinave plastike në ndarje,
larje dhe riciklim në LDPE ri-granuluar, dhe në fund shitjen e ri-granulatit
dhe prodhimit e qeseve të mbeturinave.

REKS LLC plans to be one of the largest plastic recycling company in the
Western Balkans. The company will combine the full cycle of plastic recy-
cling from collection of waste to sorting, washing and recycling to produce
LDPE re-granulate, and then selling the re-granulate and producing garbage
bags.

”Rrënjët Tona” is a local company that cultivates mushrooms from recycled

coffee grounds. The company produces oyster mushrooms from coffee resi-
dues, where 90% of the fertilizer used is made of coffee waste that is collect-
ed from coffee shops located in Gjakova, from where the company operates.

TE PEMA
TE PEMA është një produkt vetëdijësues teknologjik që ndikon në
përmirësimin e cilësisë së ajrit. Produkti përbëhet nga paneli mbajtës,
bimët, dhe sistemim automatik të ujitjes (pikë-pikë) i cili mundëson që
bimët të jenë të freskëta gjatë gjithë kohës dhe pastrojnë ajrin me kapacitet
maksimal. Çka e bënë produktin TE PEMA më të veçantë është se e pastron
ajrin njësoj sikur 70 pemë të zakonshme. Ky projekt mbështetet nga Unicef
Innovations Lab Kosovo, Upshift dhe UP-Fakulteti Teknik.

TE PEMA is an awareness-raising technological product that improves the

quality of air. The product consists of the panel installation, plants, and the
integrated irrigation system that allows plants to be fresh all the time and
purify the air at maximum capacity. What makes TE PEMA product even
more interesting is that it cleanses the air in equivalence to 70 trees. This
project is supported by Unicef Innovations Lab Kosovo, Upshift and UP
Technical Faculty.

Thes-Ari
Thes-Ari është një prej prodhuesve vendor kryesorë të peletit dhe briketit
nga druri në Kosovë. Thes-Ari ka filluar punën me biomasë – dru zjarri, së
pari me briket, por më vonë edhe me pellet. Thesari është pajisur me stand-
ardin ENPlus A2 për pelet dhe është prodhuesi i parë i certifikuar i peletit
në vend. Gjithashtu, kompania ka filluar edhe eksportet e peletit në Greqi.

Thes-Ari is one of the leading local wood pellet and briquette producers in
Kosovo. Thes-Ari started production in wood biomass fuel, first with bri-
quettes and later with pellets. Thesari has obtained ENPlus A2 standard for
pellet and is the first local certified producer of pellet. The company has also
started exports to Greece.

Tiki Mosaic bënë prodhimin e mozaikut te ricikluar që bëhet nga mbetjet e
qelqit të thyer dhe mozaikut nga qelqi i pastër‐kristal. Mozaikët e ricikluar
