Barnardos board members are responsible for the stewardship of Barnardos.

They ensure that the work of the organisation reflects our ethos and values.

They ensure that our services, work practices and policies and procedures work cohesively to
achieve our organisational goals and operate within the relevant legal frameworks.

The board also oversees the governance of the organisation and monitors the finances.
The board is supported in its role by these specialised sub committees; Finance, Audit, Best
Practice, Remuneration and Nominations Committees.

The Board delegates the day-to-day management of Barnardos to the Executive Management
Team.

Barnardos Board members and the chairman of the Board are volunteers and donate freely of
their time, skills and experience.
