SHAC Notes EHAA Local: School Health Advisory Council The schoo! health advisory council (SHAC) shall review and make recommendations to the District on any changes to the current human sexuality program or any new program to be implemented. The SHAC shall review, on an annual basis, the health education curriculum, including human sexuality education. Process 1. External applicants complete survey to ensure alignment of EHAA policies and NSES. They also submitted their Opt In letter, Scope and Sequence, and lessons. 2. The Health and Physical Education Department reviews the material and notifies SHAC that it aligns. 3. SHAC invites the external organizations to present to SHAC. SHAC makes a recommendation for approval. 5. The Health and Physical Education Department notifies the Department of Innovation to allow the process of the Youth Service Mapping (YSM) for AISD to begin. 6. The Department of Innovation and Development will continue their application process and will determine if the external organization is approved and will post on the YSM website. 7. Principals may request the approved organization as a resource on their campus.
