1 Snagging and de-snagging process

Snagging refers to a process that takes place prior to practical completion when an area
is considered complete by a contractor and is offered ready for inspection.
A snagging list (occasionally referred to as a punch list) is prepared and issued by the
appropriate certifying authority, typically this will be the employer and client
representative. The faults that are identified should be rectified prior to a certificate of
practical completion being issued.
Snagging in such circumstances might begin months before overall project completion.
It may also mean that some areas are physically complete but without the services
having been commissioned. This should be noted on the snagging sheet and the snags
should be closed prior to get FAC (Final Acceptance Certificate) from the client.

throughout the construction to ensure faults are identified and rectified, and future is
optimized wherever applicable. The aim of the testing shall be to ensure a robust
construction that meets the intended designed requirement.

The objectives of the T & C works are:

o To verify proper functioning of the equipment/system after installation.

o To verify that the performance of the installed equipment/systems meet with the
specified design intent through a series of tests and adjustments.

o To capture and record performance data of the whole installation as the baseline
for future operation and maintenance.
