New Remote Pilot Disconnects:

Option “Y” – Pneumatic operated with “fork” mechanism to eject

the remote pilot, effectively making it a dual pilot (part number 47834)

New Remote Pilots:

These remote pilots stay attached to the hydrant servicer via the command
hose and they can be energized with either air or fuel:

Part number 64230 Simple Disconnect (requires manual lifting of the collar to
engage and to disengage)

3
– or –

Part number 64280 Push-On Disconnect can be pushed on, but collar must
be raised to disengage, or will disengage automatically when pulling the
lanyard on the Option “Y”, noted above.

Optional extension handle available on both remote pilots.

New Dual Pilot (for Pit Boxes 18” in diameter and larger):

Additionally, for those users who require the dual pilot to be permanently
attached to the hydrant valve, Eaton now offers a new Option “Z” pilot. This
pilot adopts the sealed piston technology from our remote pilots into a
compact lanyard mechanism that eliminates issues related to the inward
breathing pistons in the conventional pilots. Fuel leakage into the hydrant
servicer’s pneumatic system is also not possible with this design.

Existing hydrant valves can easily be converted to any of the

remote pilot options or new permanent pilot. They eliminate all of
the common maintenance issues related to contaminated fluids
entering the pilot piston area of existing “E”, “F”, or “U” pilots and
also eliminated the possibility of fuel entering the pneumatic
systems on the hydrant servicer.

SERVICE GUIDE FOR THE 47800

Step 1:

Remove the Air Lanyard Assembly (47575) by removing the 4 screws (GF16997-45). It is not necessary
to have the valve in a vice for disassembly but this will be useful for reassembly.

SCREWS

Step 2:

Remove the Actuator (221622) from the Connector (221794). Take note of the alignment. The Actuator
and Connector should be flush as show below. Upon reassembly the Actuator torque values is 133 inch
pounds. The Actuator O-ring (M25988/1-012) is shown below:
Step 3:

Remove the Piston String (00600-049-1250S) and Actuator Piston (221622) from the Actuator Body
(222260). Upon reassembly apply a light amount of petroleum jelly to the bottom lip of the Actuator
Body.

Step 4:

Inspect the Spring Energized Seal (304A-122) and note its orientation. The open end of the seal should
face the piston face side of the Actuator Piston.

6
Step 5:

Inside the Connector remove the Orifice Screw (29224-3) and O-ring (MS29513-028). Upon reassembly
apply petroleum jelly to the O-ring and insure it is seated properly.

Step 6:

Shown below is the Elbow (5502-2-4) with thread sealant. Always remove the old thread sealant and
apply new upon reassembly. We recommend allowing the sealant to dry overnight before reassembly.

SERVICE GUIDE FOR THE 47525

Step 7:

Carefully remove the Spring Pin (.125-1-1.250LDP).

Step 8:

Separate the Lanyard Guide (220474) from the Flanged Connector (221796). Note the hole in the Ball
Retainer (220412). Upon reassembly this hole must align with the hole shown on the Lanyard Guide.

8
Step 9:

Carefully remove the Spring Pin (.125-1.000LDP) that holds the Poppet Assembly in the Flanged
Connector.

Step 10:

Remove the Poppet (221979) and Poppet Spring (10460). Note the hole in the poppet shaft. Upon
reassembly this hole must align with the hole shown on the Flanged Connector/Ball Housing.

BALL HOUSING

9
Step 11:

Remove the Ball Housing ( 220409), Spring (C0210-026-125S), Ball Retainer (220412) and three Balls
(220417) from the Flanged Connector.

The reassembly of the Ball Housing, Spring, Ball Retainer and Balls requires compression and rotation
of the assembly. Rotation is necessary to properly install the three Balls. The picture below shows a
fixture that was fabricated to facilitate this processf but a fixture is not required.

Step 12:

In the event that the Lanyard Assembly must be serviced, refer to the pictures and part descriptions

Step 13:

Remove Cage (221790) and Valve Stem (222261) from the Hyrant Valve. The O-ring (201201-014) is
the only field serviceable item. When replacing this O-ring make sure that the O-ring does not roll or
pinch and apply a liberal amount of petroleum jelly.

ATTACHING THE ACTUATOR

Fasten the Actuator Assembly to the Hydrant Valve after re-installing the Valve Stem Assembly (47777)
using Screws (3208CSSSPA) and Retaining Tabs (222259) as shown below. An O-ring (MS29514-
114) is installed on the Actuator Body.

Recommendations:

We recommend that all soft goods be replaced when performing any maintenance or repair.
Always use replacement parts supplied by Eaton Corporation. Failure to use replacement parts
from Eaton can result in serious damage to the equipment and to the operator.
Use these guidelines as an addendum to Eaton’s Service Manual SM60554.
Properly test all equipment before returning to service.
Contact your Authorized Ground Fueling Distributor for additional assistance.
