PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
IB MYP Category II Individuals and Societies: Delivering the MYP curriculum
September 2017
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter on behalf of an exceptional young educator, Sam Brunner. As the grade 8
Individuals and Societies teacher at Chadwick International School, I worked closely with Sam
for an entire year; coplanning units and daily lessons, coteaching, creating authentic
assessments, analyzing data, and assessing student performance. Sam was not only a
pleasure to work with, he was vital asset in these processes, offering insight and fresh ideas.
Being a true Millennial, he knows how to integrate technology meaningfully, and consistently
developed interactive learning activities which engaged our students and required them to think
deeply.
Sam already possesses the qualities of a great teacher empathy, enthusiasm, intelligence,
work ethic as well as great knowledge of his content area. He is able to communicate complex
ideas in a way that young adolescents can grasp. His personality and disposition seem to be a
natural fit for middle school students. He effortlessly builds rapport with our students; they
admire him and strive to impress him. He also possesses the right traits to ensure that he
continues to develop into a master of the craft. I have been most impressed with his ability to
selfreflect and improve. He seeks constructive feedback and strives to improve daily.
I recommend Mr. Brunner to you unreservedly as a teacher with the correct values, qualification
and attitude to be a real success in the profession, and as an invaluable member of any school
community. He is genuinely outstanding in quality, reliability and commitment.
Best Regards,
Langdon Kell Simpson

To Whom it may concern,
I am writing to you on behalf of Sam Brunner, my current co‐teacher at Chadwick International. I came
to know Sam in August of this year as he joined our Humanities team, yet he has also served our school
as an advisor and coach. In particular, the advisory program is a place where Sam shines. He quickly
builds relationships with students, getting to know their interests to build rapport. The students rely
on him for academic and emotional guidance as they transition from the PYP into grade 6 and middle
school. Sam routinely communicates with parents and fellow teachers to support his advisees.
It is with great pleasure that I recommend Sam for a teaching position, know that he will be an active
and vital role in any school community. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me at
