Strengths of the lesson:

 The teacher informed me at the beginning of the lesson that this group is hyperactive. I
said it is a good challenge for you. Show me you class management skills.
 After watching the video about ecosystem. She started to ask students what are “living
things”. Students answered her. Then she gave students worksheets to do the activities in
groups.
 She started to move around tables to discuss the activity with each group.
 Although the class is hard to be controlled, she showed some good skills to handle it. But
it is not sufficient.
 She tried to motivate students to participate and pay attention to others: “good
listeners”, “ head down”, “pay attention”. She used “class class” as technique to control
the class. Students responded “yes yes. Actually, it worked.
 Technology is used.
 Differentiation in activities. Excellent!!
 I noticed that the ST bought some stuff for her activity. This shows a great interest in
learning and teaching.
 In the second half of the class, the teacher started to act effectively with her students. I
think she was shy or stressed in the first half because this is the first time for me to
observe her. Things will get better in future.
 The ST used a collaborative informative assessment. She used a word file on the smart
board to collect some data from their ecosystem they just made.
Areas for development:

1. The beginning is not clear. You started your lesson with a video. You did not inform your
students about the topic or the objectives.
2. The MST and Ahlam’s colleague helped in managing and teaching. This is not expectable.
Student teacher should live the experience as a sole teacher.
3. I did not feel that the teacher role is present in her class.
4. The Inquiry based learning technique is not emphasized. You asked: the ecosystem is in
the desert. It includes nonliving ..….what? No one answered, but then you gave them the
answer. You should lead their thinking to get the right answer. You have to make them
part of the learning process, not a passive receiver.
The closing is bad. You did not wrap up. You did not summarize anything, you did not highlight
your main objectives.
