ADMISSION NOTICE FOR FIRST YEAR OF FULL TIME POST GRADUATE COURSE IN
M.E./M.TECH. 2016-17
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Maharashtra Unaided Private
Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015 (Mah. XXVIII of
2016), the Government of Maharashtra has notified the rules ‘the Maharashtra Unaided Private
Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions to the Full Time Professional
Postgraduate Technical Courses) Rules, 2016’ to regulate the admissions to the First and Direct Second
Year of Full Time Professional Postgraduate Technical Courses (Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy,
Pharm D., Architecture, Hotel Management and Catering Technology). These rules are also applicable for
admissions in Government and Government Aided institutions vide Government Resolution of Higher &
Technical Education Department No. TEM-2016/CR 536/TE-4 Dated 15th March 2016.
This admission notice is being issued for Online Registration, Documents Verification and
Application Form Confirmation at Facilitation Centers (FC), Option form Filling and Reporting of
Admission by candidates aspiring for admissions to First Year of Full Time Post Graduate Courses in
Engineering and Technology (M. E. / M. Tech) in the Government, Government Aided, University
Managed, University Departments and Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions for the
Academic Year 2016-17 in the Maharashtra State. The Director, Technical Education shall act as a Nodal
Officer to carry out the admissions under the supervision & control of the Competent Authority.
Aspiring candidates are hereby informed to read the aforesaid Act and Rules published on
www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/ME2016.
Eligibility Criteria for Various Types of Candidature For admission:
Children of NRI / OCI / PIO,

** ii) Candidates who have appeared for GATE 2016 and have marks below qualifying marks may
also apply on the basis of Marks obtained out of 100 [Candidates appeared for GATE 2015 and have
marks above qualifying marks are only eligible for admission through CAP].
Online Registration for Admission:-
1.1 The candidates should apply online on www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/ME2016 as per schedule and fill
the Online Application Form step by step.
1.2 Candidates shall pay the required fees only by Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking as given bellow.

Important Instructions for candidate:

1. The List of the institutes identified as Facilitation Centers (FC) and Admission reporting Centers
(ARC) is available on the website.
2. The Information Brochure will be available on website.
3. The candidates are required to produce the documents in original documents for verification and
Confirmation of Application Form at FC.
4. Candidates are advised to keep the necessary documents ready and scan all the documents.
5. If candidates fail to confirm online filled Application Form at FC, then such applications will be
rejected and name of such candidates will not appear in the merit list(s) prepared for the purpose
of Admission for both CAP as well as non CAP process.
6. The candidates belonging to SC, VJ/DT (NT (A), NT (B), NT(C), NT (D), OBC and SBC categories
should produce “Caste Validity Certificate” issued by Scrutiny Committee of Social Welfare
Department and the Candidate belonging to ST category should submit “Tribe Validity Certificate”
issued by Scrutiny Committee of Tribal Department. All Backward Class candidates excluding SC &
ST should produce Non Creamy Layer certificate valid up to 31st March 2017 at the time of
verification of documents at FC, if these candidates are not able to produce the Non Creamy Layer
certificate, then such candidates will be treated as GENERAL category candidates and such
candidates will not be able to claim Reserved seats in the admission process.
7. Application received after the due date from candidates belonging to NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of
Indian workers in Gulf countries, Foreign National categories will be summarily rejected and no
 correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Such Candidates will get the Receipt-cum-
Acknowledgement through their login after verification & confirmation of application form.
8. Reserved category candidates unable to produce Caste/Tribe Validity Certificate are required
produce Proforma H on Rs.100/- Non Judicial Bond Paper for verification.
9. Candidates who have registered as a reserved category candidate but unable to produce required
documents for reservation claim during documents verification, shall have to pay difference
amount of fees of ₹ 200/- at the FC in cash.
10. Once the candidate confirms his/her Option form online through his/her Login for the respective
admission rounds, Candidate will not be allowed to change/cancel the option/preference
submitted under any circumstances.
11. The Seat Acceptance fees is to be paid by Demand Draft in favour of 'Commissioner, State
CET Cell, Maharashtra State, Mumbai' payable at ‘Mumbai’.
General Notes:
1. Candidate can avail the facilities for filling online application form, scanning documents free of
cost at Facilitation Centre (FC).
2. All FC’s shall remain open on all days including holidays and Sundays for submission &
confirmation of application form during the schedule.
3. The schedule displayed above is provisional and may change under unavoidable circumstances.
The revised schedule, if any, will be notified on website www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/ME2016.
