Student Nurses Produce Relevant Studies

Four research works from Foundation University College of Nursing recently qualified for the paper
presentations at the International Conference of Nurses 8 (ICONS 8) held November 23 at Marco Polo
Hotel and Residences, Cebu City.

The 4 research papers with corresponding authors are as follows:

 A Study of Nurses’ Empathy in Three Departments at the Negros Oriental Provincial


Hospital
 Perceived Teaching Effectiveness of Clinical Instructors in Selected Colleges of Nursing in
Negros Oriental
 The Study Habits Among Student Nurses in Selected Schools in Dumaguete City

 The Lived Experience of Formal Caregivers Caring for Non-Relative Patients

The International Conference of Nurses 8 (ICONS 8) aims to provide a forum for presentation of
evidence-based nursing researches that are relevant to the call of the times. It also aims to create an
atmosphere of academic sharing on the current and emerging trends in the aspect of nursing care and to
promote collaboration and linkages among academic institutions offering nursing education within the
archipelago and abroad.

Foundation University recognizes the importance of research work that is relevant to the need of the
times especially in the aspect of healthcare as an essential factor towards nation-building.
