Jarus, Owens. “Hatshepsut: Powerful Female Pharaoh.” Live Science, 18 May 2018,
into the early life of Hatshepsut and the events that led up to her becoming ruler. He
goes on by providing details of her rule and her successes that marked her as one of the
most successful rulers of her time. The piece also gives a brief look into the type of

Thomas, Susanna. Hatshepsut: The First Woman Pharaoh. The Rosen Publishing Group, 2003.
The book provides a the reader with look into the history of Egypt, it’s government, and
culture before leading into the history of the dynasty that Hatshepsut was born into. It
continues on with her history by providing readers a look into her life as the queen
before her husband passed away and what she accomplished during her reign after
assuming the role as king. This is a good source of information but can be considered
juvenile in regards to its simplicity with the presentation of the information. The amount
of information and how it was presented didn’t make me feel that it was lacking
anything and it made me feel confident that I would be able to take the information that
was contained within and write an informative piece with it if need be.
