“A Mother’s Mourn”

The first touch of a new-born is one of the most precious moments of our life. The moment they
are born brings the thrill of amazement. It brings a smile on our face which never fades away.
Babies are the most precious gift on the earth. You loved to stare them for ages. Babies touch
gives you satisfaction, joy, pride, relief and a close companion. Though few words cannot take
the place of the happiness of that moment. But there are some instances that trial are meant to
come to a couple for a reason.
Pregnancy induced hypertension is raised blood pressure which develops in pregnancy after 20
weeks gestation or immediately following delivery.
Pre-Eclampsia (PET) is raised blood pressure and protein in the urine. This is more dangerous
than PIH, if left untreated can lead to an eclamptic seizure.
Pre-Eclimpsia is known as a silent killer because the pregnant women may not feel any symptoms
of her blood pressure rising.

 Risk to a Mother
Pre- Eclampsia could lead to eclampsia which is seizure (forced). Uncontrolled seizures could lead
to maternal death during the pregnancy. Evidence highlights women who have pre-eclampsia are
four times more likely to develop hypertension (raised blood pressure).

 Risk to a Baby
Intra Uterine Growth Restriction (UTR). Baby is not growing as normal due to restricted blood
flow and nutrients, causing baby to be smaller than gestational age.
Intra- Uterine Death / Stillbirth
Placenta absorption (the Placenta detaches from the uterine wall is which causes excessive
internally bleeding in the mother).

Here is a patient had experience Pre-Eclempsia during her delivery.

Ruzhele Legitimas Baranda ( Elementary Teacher )
(how did affect this incident to your family?)
“hmm, sayang kay baby girl na unta then unexpected jud siya kay giplanohan na unta ang tanan
pero kay sayo man siya gikuha dawaton na lang”.
(unsa imong nafeel before nimo gideliver ang baby?)
“kung unsa ang usual nga gibati sa buntis before siya manganak , sakit na dili nmo maexplain,
sakit ang bat. ang ug pus. on, tas kulba...”.

(if iconnect nimo siya nga situation sa ubang tao?)

“kung ang uban ilaha rang paaksayahan ang ilang mga anak through Abortion or ipaAdopt dili
pud na sya maayo kay uban gani nangandoy nga magkaanak pero naghope japon nga
makaanak..”.

and now Mrs. Baranda and her family had recovered from the pain and grief that they
encountered and still thankful and blessed to God Above all.
