What is child labor?
Child labor is a violation of a young adults fundamental human rights that tends to
impede on a child’s development, their health and well being as well as depriving
the youth from opportunities that come their way.

Common Statistics
- More than a quarter of people in forced labor are children

- There are 168 million children worldwide trapped in child labor, accounting
for almost 11 percent of the overall child population.

- 100 million boys and 68 million girls.

- A total of 47.5 million adolescents aged 15 to 17 years are in hazardous

work.

- Around half are engaged in hazardous work.

Solutions to Child Labor
- The Child Labor Coalition (CLC) is a global organization that facilitates and
finds many project related to child labor. These projects are often focused on
pushing education. This seems to be the most commonly accepted solution.
- An alternative to buying products from certain companies is fairtrade
chocolate.
- The Global March Against Child Labor is an organization much like the before
mentioned CLC, however they focus more on putting money and
opportunities into communities where Child Labor is common.
