The Alhambra Unified School District Board of Education is accepting applications to fill the vacancy for the full term of the First Nominating District seat. Any person eligible to hold office may obtain an application from the Office of the Superintendent, Administration Building, 1515 West Mission Road, Alhambra, CA 91803, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or on our District website www.ausd.us. In accordance with Education Code Section 35107, to be eligible to be elected or appointed as a member of a governing board of a school district, an interested party must be: • Eighteen ( 18) years of age or older • A citizen of the state • A resident of the school district (and within the 1st District boundaries for this seat) • A registered voter • Not disqualified by the Constitution or laws of the state from holding a civil office • An employee of the school district may not be sworn into office as an elected or appointed member of that school district’s governing board unless and until he or she resigns as an employee. lf the employee does not resign, the employment will automatically terminate upon being sworn into office. The deadline for candidates to submit their application for this
position is 5:00 p.m. on January 16, 2019. Incomplete application packages will not be considered. The Board will interview finalists at a regular public meeting on January 24, 2019 at 5:30 p.m., announce its decision, and seat the new member at the Board meeting on January 29, 2019.
