December 13, 2018 Dear Parents/Guardians, On Thursday on December 13, 2018, a firearm was recovered in a storm drain on the campus of Southside High School. The weapon was brought to the campus by a student who has since been arrested and transported by district police. The weapon was not in anyone’s possession at the time the information was, received and was immediately recovered. The campus administration and district police have continued their investigation and have determined that there is no longer any immediate threat. Southside ISD strives to provide a safe and secure learning environment for its students, staff, and community. We encourage all stakeholders to be vigilant of any potential threats to our schools, It is also important to know that we take all threats seriously. We will investigate and prosecute to the fullest extent.
