Classroom Management Plan Reflection

This artifact is my classroom management plan. For this artifact, I had to generate my

own expectations, routines, and escalating interventions in my ideal classroom. I developed these

through taking observing classroom environments that were positive learning communities based

on cooperation, collaboration, and respect. This artifact demonstrates my mastery of this

standard because I prioritize praise over criticism, promote high standards for work and social

interaction, and place emphasis on how I as a teacher am responsible for creating this

environment. For example, in my plan I mention calling out students who are on task as an

indirect way to prompt off task students to make a change. Also, I emphasize creating positive

relationships with every student. This artifact relates to student learning because the

environment sets the tone for student learning. In a positive classroom, students will feel

confident enough to take risks and comfortable enough to collaborate. I incorporate most of my

plan into my actual classroom management. Most notably, I created positive relationships with

my students early so I could better help them succeed. This artifact demonstrates JPTAAR

because classroom management is an essential part of teaching. Planning, assessing, and

reflecting are essential, but unless your instruction is delivered effectively with students being

held to high standards for work and behavior and an emphasis on smoothness, students will not

meet your objective.
