n Security Checking for Operation and Monitoring on HIS

The user group and privilege level determines the operation and monitoring scope on an HIS.
The Security Builder predefines the settings of the user group and privilege level for users in an
HIS.
The operation and monitoring privileges can be set individually for each HIS. The operation
and monitoring on an HIS must be performed only after checking the operation and monitoring
privileges of the user and HIS.

l Temporarily Changing the User Privilege Level

If an operation keyboard is connected to the HIS, you can change the privilege level using the
mode selection key on the keyboard.
The operation key and engineering key are the two types of keys used for switching between the
modes.

3.4 Multiple-Monitor
The Multiple-Monitor function connects up to four monitors to one HIS, and the operation
and monitoring windows are displayed on each monitor.
The Multiple-Monitor package (LHS4600) is required for using this functionality.

n Overview of Multiple-Monitor
The Multiple-Monitor function has the following features:
• Up to four monitors can be connected to one HIS. A display card compatible with the
Multiple-Monitors feature of Windows is used for connection.
• Monitors can be arranged either side by side or stacked in two levels.
• One monitor is assigned as the main monitor and others as the sub monitors.
• Multiple full screen operation and monitoring windows can be displayed at the same time.
• The dialog box that is opened from the operation and monitoring window appears in the
monitor where the calling window is displayed.
• System Message Banner appears on each monitor, showing the same information.
• Browser Bar appears on each monitor, and it can operated independently on each monitor.
• An operation and monitoring window opens in the specified monitor.
You can use the following operations available in the Multiple-Monitor display:
• Open windows on a specified monitor.
• Close windows in the specified monitor.
• Print the screen images on a specified monitor.
• Transfer windows between the two specified monitors (shift and exchange).
• Move the pointer freely across the monitors.
• Drag and drop the operation and monitoring windows to move them across the monitors.

n Arranging the Monitors

In Multiple-Monitors, the monitors are arranged side by side or stacked vertically as shown in the
following figure. You need to set the Windows display properties according to the way you have
installed the multiple monitors.

030401E.ai

Figure Arrangement of Monitors in Multiple-Monitor

n Main Monitor and Sub Monitor

Multiple-Monitor uses one monitor as the main monitor and the other monitors as sub monitors.
The main monitor is the monitor specified as primary monitor in the Windows display properties.
The Windows taskbar is displayed only on the main monitor.
The System Message Banner is displayed on all monitors with the same contents, and can be
operated the same way on each monitor.
The Browser Bar is displayed on each monitor in the same position but can be operated
independently. However, the Favorites folder contents are common for all the monitors.
When an operation and monitoring window is opened without specifying the monitor number, the
window is displayed on the monitor where the active window is located or on the monitor from
where the new window is opened. If the active window does not exist and the calling window
cannot be determined, the window to be opened is displayed on the main monitor. The faceplate
operations performed using the operation keyboard equipped with 8-loop control keys are
different on the main monitor and sub monitor.
In Multiple-Monitor, there is no differentiation between the main monitor and sub monitor. You can
transfer windows between the specified pair of monitors.

4.4 Performing Tight Shut and Full Open

Tight shut/Full open ensures the tight shut or full open status of a valve, so that when the
manipulated value (MV) is 0% the actual output value is reduced below 0%, and when it is
100% the actual output value is increased above 100%.

n Operating Method
If you want to perform Tight shut/Full open, do one of the following:
• In the Data Input dialog box, enter “0” or “100” directly in MV.
• Click the INC/DEC button and press the [Shift] key continuously even after the MV shown in
the instrument faceplate has reached “MV=0.0%” or “MV=100.0%.”

IMPORTANT
• If the output destination of the manipulated value (MV) of a function block having the
‘Tight shut/Full open’ feature is a Fieldbus Faceplate block, set the ‘Tight shut/Full open’
specification to “No” in the Function Block Detail Builder.
• In the Function Block Detail Builder, the “Output Value for Tight-shut (Ms)” and “Output
Value for Full-open (Mf)” settings are named assuming that it is the valves with reverse
actions that fully closes when the manipulated value (MV) is 0%. For the valves that close
tightly which fully close when the manipulated value (MV) is 100%, the “Output Value for
Tight-shut (Ms)” setting is for decreasing the actual output value to less than 0%, when the
manipulated value (MV) is 0%. Note that the “Output Value for Full-open (Mf)” setting is for
increasing the actual output valve to more than 100%, when the manipulated value (MV) is
100%.
