Mukhad Sharif (‫ )مکھڈ شریف‬is a historical town of

District Attock. It is located at the bank of river


Indus. It history begins about 500 year before
Christ. The name Mukhad Sharif or Makhad Sharif
is actually combination of two words of Persian
language Maha and Khad. Maha (‫ )مہا‬means big
and Khad (‫ )کھڈ‬stands for a deep place among
mountainous area, Thus Mukhad or Makhad
means a deep place surround by cliffs from there
sides and river Indus form one side. The word
Sharif (‫ )شریف‬is used for sacred place, and in
Pakistan is usually the Sharif word is with name of
those places where there are shrines and tombs of
passed saints. In Mukhad there are three shrines of
great muslim scholars, preachers and saints.
1. Hazrat Molana Muhammad Ali (R.A). (Chishti)
2. Hazrat Peer Qasim Ali Shah (R.A) know as
Hazrat Haji Peer. (Qadri)
3. Hazrat Noori Badshah (R.A) (Qadri)
