3.11 CLOSURE

As Per ASME B31.8 para 831.373 - Closure Head, Closure head such as flat, Ellipsoidal (other than in
para 831.372), spherical or conical head are allowed for use under this code. Such item may be designed
in accordance with Section VIII, Div. I.

As per ASME Sec VIII, Div I para UG - 34 (c) (1), Circular blind flange of any of the flange standard
listed in table U - 3 and further limited in UG - 44 SHALL BE ACCEPTED for diameter and pressure -
temperature rating in the respective standard when the blind flange is of the type shown in Figure UG - 34
Sketches (j) and (k) Based on ASME Sec. VIII Div I para UG - 44, standard covering flange and fitting is
ASME B16.5 and based on pressure temperature rating we used Blind flange SA 105 16" rating 300#.
