DRUG TESTING MAY BE CARRIED OUT AT THE SHOW
HELMETS: Every rider is encouraged to wear a safety helmet compliant with the current
Australian Standard. Riders under 18 years must wear such a helmet.
ALL RIDERS MUST BE DISMOUNTED WHEN CROSSING THE ROAD TO THE CENTER
ARENA.
ALL COMPETITION AT THIS SHOW is governed by these regulations and by the
Agricultural Societies Council of NSW Rules for Discipline in Horse Sections at Shows which
can be viewed at www.agshowsnsw.org.au . Should it be necessary for the ASC Disciplinary
Committee to open an inquiry into any aspect of competition in this Horse Section, Dubbo
Show Society will support any penalty imposed by that Committee as a result of the inquiry
and will support penalties resulting from enquiries arising from Horse Sections at other NSW
Shows.
INDEMNITY AND WAIVER FORMS: The Horse Committee will take all care in managing the
section, But competitors taking part in this Horse Section do so at their own risk. Each Adult
competitor must, before competing, complete and sign a form indemnifying the Dubbo Show
Society and waiving any claims against the Society for any injury sustained in competition or
for loss or damage to the competitors property or damage caused by the competitor or
his/her animal(s) at the Show. A similar form must also be completed and signed by a parent
or guardian for each competitor who is under 18 years of age. ALSO, on each Waiver, each
horse with which the competitor is involved in competition at the Show must be listed
together with the Property Identification Code (PIC) of the property from which the horse
came to the Show.
REFUSAL OF ENTRY/ALTERATION OF SCHEDULE: The Committee reserves the right to
refuse an entry without assigning any reason for doing so and to alter the schedule to meet
emerging circumstances.
APPROACHING JUDGES: No exhibitor or associate will initiate conversation with a judge
on judging day, before or after judging except through the Ringmaster or Chief Steward.
PROHIBITED RELATIONSHIP: NO Competitor will present for judging before a judge with
whom he/she has a family relationship, has or has recently had a personal relationship or
has had horse related business.
JUDGES DECISION/DISCRETION: The judge is empowered to withhold any or all prizes in
any class where the exhibits are, in his/her opinion, unworthy of the prize, and at all times the
judges decision will be final. A judge has the discretion to ask that a led or performance
exhibit and handler/ rider/ driver be ordered to leave the ring if he / she considers the animal
is unruly and /or likely to cause an accident.
ADMISSION TO RING: Through Marshalling Yard only. Before admission to ring, ALL
competitors must obtain and produce Entry Card which will be issued only on payment of
Entry Fee.
LATENESS TO THE RING: Competitors must be ready when called. Once Judging has
commenced, a competing horse shall not be led, ridden or driven into or out of the judging
ring without the permission of the judge and/or the Ringmaster or Chief Steward.
Leaving The Ring: If a led horse should drag or escape its handler or a ridden or driven
horse take control of or unseat its rider and leave the ring, it is usually disqualified from class.
Class will not be delayed for competitors competing in another Ring.
Competitors not complying with horse stall allocations and regulations will not be eligible to
compete in any horse event.
REGISTRATION PAPERS where applicable for Breed Classes must be presented to
Stewards on entering the ring. Each exhibitor must provide membership certificate,
registration number & the name of the registered owner & current membership number.
No dogs allowed in Ring.
CAMPING FEE: $65.00 for Show
DISTRICT/ LOCAL CLASSES: Horses and/or riders must have been resident for at least
three months prior to the show within 50 kilometer radius of the Showground.
ATTIRE: Competitors must be appropriately attired for the competition in which they are
competing.
HORSE STALLS
Allocation to the various Sections will be made at the discretion of the Horse Committee upon
application in writing on the appropriate form and accompanied by appropriate fee.
Preference will be given to visitors travelling long distances.
Application for stabling will close 2 Weeks prior to Show. Covered Stalls (bedding supplied)
$65.00 (GST inclusive) for week of Show, if available.
NO MONEY - NO STALLS
Refunds ONLY when notified 14 days prior to Show
Verification of payment for horse stalls and camping fees
will be required from all competitors before entries will be accepted.
STABLES: Any damage caused to stables by Exhibitors Horse, MUST be made good or be
replaced. Exhibitors are responsible to maintain the stables in good condition, if not, the
horse will be removed and the reimbursement of damages will be sort.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
1. HORSE MEASURING: No official measuring will take place at the show, but, if a
question about height arises, proof of height may be required. In the absence of
proof, a decision will be at the absolute discretion of the Ring Master or Chief
Steward.
2. NOVICE HACK, GALLOWAY, PONY: A horse which has not won a first prize at
any Agricultural Show, Royal Show, Hack Council or EFA show. A Statutory
declaration to this effect may be required. This rule also applies to Show Hunters.
3. INTERMEDIATE HACKS, GALLOWAY OR PONY: A horse which has not won
either first, second or third at a Royal Show, Hack Council or EFA show. This rule
also applies to Show Hunters
4. SHOW HUNTERS: Show Hunters are NOT eligible to compete in either the
Novice, Open or Adults or Childs Hack classes, Ridden Hack, Galloway or Pony
Classes in the open ring. Show Hunters should compete in a bridle with plain
browband and riders are to be dressed in Hunter attire.
5. RIDDEN HACK, GALLOWAY, PONY: Horses in these classes are NOT eligible to
compete in either the Novice, Open Show Hunter or Adults / Childs Show Hunter
classes and Show Hunter Classes. Riders to be dressed in the appropriate attire
for these classes.
6. SUPREME CHAMPION HACK: Horses eligible to compete in this class are:
Champion Hack n/e 16hh, Champion Hack over 16hh, Champion Galloway Hack,
Champion Pony Hack N/E 12.2hh and Champion Pony Hack over 12hh n/e 14hh
from Round 1 only.
7. ROUNDS: Any horse that has won either 1st, Champion or Reserve Champion in
Round 1 is NOT eligible to compete in Round 2.
8. GRAND PARADE: Only horses that have competed in the Supreme Champion
Hack will be required for the Grand Parade. The announcement of Supreme
Champion Hack will take place during the Grand Parade. If an eligible competitor
does not present for the Grand Parade, they will forfeit their chance to be awarded
the Supreme Champion Hack.
9. PRIZEMONEY: If there are three or more competitors in a class, prizemoney will
be awarded to 1st and 2nd. If there is two competitors in a class, 1st prizemoney
only will be awarded. If there is only one competitor in a class, no prizemoney will
be awarded.
Prizemoney to be collected from the horse ring office.
10. STALLIONS: Are to be under the control of an adult at all times and must wear an
appropriate bit so as they are under effective control at all times. Unruly behavior
by a stallion will cause that stallion to be removed from the ring. Stallions are not
permitted to compete in any Hack classes unless otherwise stated in the program.
# Stallions tied to the outside of a truck or trailer MUST be supervised at all times
#Stallions may be substituted in prize-giving ceremonies with another horse should
the rider deem it safer
#Riders and handlers of stallions at the show MUST be over the age of 17 years:
however, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian or owner/riders to ensure
that all possible safety precautions are taken and they understand the full code of
conduct for stallions at events.
ALL STALLIONS MUST BE DOUBLE TIED BY NECK STRAP AND HALTER ON
ALL GROUNDS.
11. PONIES: May be ridden by an adult except in classes specified otherwise.
12. CONSOLATION HACK: Competitors are eligible for this class if they have not won
a 1st, 2nd or 3rd at Dubbo Show for the year of competition.
13. TROPHIES: All perpetual trophies will be retained by Dubbo Show Society. The
winners name shall be engraved on the trophy by the Society.
14. PROTESTS: A protest or complaint against any exhibit or exhibitor may be lodged
verbally with the Ringmaster or Chief Steward no later than ten minutes after the
judging of the exhibit or exhibitor. The Ringmaster or Chief Steward must be
provided with the exact nature of the complaint and act, if necessary, to maintain
competitive fairness. The Ringmaster or Chief Steward may choose to refer the
matter to the Protests Committee, which shall comprise the President of the Show
Society, or a Vice President and Two other members of the general committee. A
protest or complaint or an appeal against the decision of the Ringmaster or Chief
Steward may be lodged in writing with the Secretary no later than 10pm on the day
of Judging. Such protest, complaint or appeal shall be accompanied by a deposit
 of $50.00 which shall be forfeited if the protest, complaint or appeal poves to be
frivolous or vexatious. A matter lodged this way shall be dealt with by the Protests
Committee within 24hrs of Lodgment and the decision of the protest Committee is
final. NB: No protest or complaint will be considered if it refers simply to a judge's
decision.
15. LOCAL CLASSES: Are restricted to horses and riders living within a 50km radius
from Dubbo Post Office. A local horse must be owned by the competitor three
months prior to competition and have resided within the 50km radius during that
time.
16. BLINDNESS: Any horse blind of an eye is only eligible to compete in led classes.
17. DRUGS: It is forbidden to administer any stimulant or depressant to a horse, or to
cause one to be administered in any way whatsoever, whether before the start or
during competition. If it is found that a competitor has administered drugs the
Society may take temporary possession of the exhibit for drug testing purposes.
Connections of the exhibit may be liable to the maximum penalties afforded to this
act. DRUG TESTING MAY BE CARRIED OUT
18. NOMINATIONS: The Society reserves the right to refuse any nomination.
19. RINGS: No horse shall compete in hack classes wearing rings.
20. JUDGING RINGS: No persons other than judges and stewards will be allowed in a
ring whilst competition is taking place.
21. CONDUCT: All competitors are to enter and leave their respective rings in a
dignified manner. Any person whose conduct toward another person is found to be
objectionable may be asked to leave the Showground and may be subject to future
disqualification and banned from other Show Societies. Likewise, the Committee
reserves the right to ask a competitor to leave a judging ring if it is in their opinion a
competitor is behaving in an unsuitable manner.
22. CRUELTY: The Committee will not tolerate any form of cruelty or abuse to any
stock on the grounds. The Committee reserves the right to expel any person/s from
the grounds if, in their opinion, an act of cruelty or unnecessary abuse has been
inflicted on any stock. Likewise, the Committee reserves the right to disallow any
stock which, in their opinion is of poor condition or health to compete.
23. PROGRAM: The Committee reserves the right to change, add, combine or delete
any classes without notice.
24. RIDERS: Under the age of 18yrs must wear properly fitted helmets (including a
chin strap) that complies with the Industry and Sports standard and are less than
five years old from date of manufacture whilst mounted. These helmets must
comply with Australian Safety Standards.
25. FOOTWEAR: All competitors must wear appropriate footwear whilst mounted or
leading a horse. Whilst riding the footwear must enable removal of the foot from
the stirrup iron. It must also prevent the foot sliding forward and through the stirrup
iron. Open toe sandals or thongs are not permitted either whilst mounted or leading
a horse.
26. COACHING: Any person found coaching a competitor whilst that competitor is
being judged, will be asked to leave the area and may be disqualified from
competition and will be removed from the showground.
27. PORTABLE YARDS: It is forbidden by the Dubbo Show Society to erect any
portable yard or electric fencing on the showground for the purpose of containing
livestock.
28. Current EI rules apply.
29. PIC NUMBERS MUST BE PROVIDED
ALL COMPETITORS ATTENDING THE DUBBO SHOW MUST ABIDE BY THE EI
STIPULATIONS AT THE TIME OF THE EVENT.

Beginner riders cannot compete in any other events in Ring's 1 and 2 on the day.
Every beginner rider must wear an approved helmet and smooth soled riding boots.
A beginner rider can be any age.
Waiver form must be completed by parents/guardians of children under 18 and wristbands
must be worn by all competitors and anyone leading a horse or rider.
Highest point score prize will be awarded as well as a Champion and Reserve
Champion ribbon for the highest point score and runner up.
(Other classes may be added by the Judge at their discretion, however will not be
sponsored. Ribbons, however will be given and results will go towards overall point score.
This ring is for our beginners to have a fun day)

Helmets- If your helmet is approved to EN1384 (the old standard no longer approved by
EA) BUT ALSO approved under another standard (PAS015, ASTM F1163, VG1, etc.) then it
is good to go.
Protective headgear must conform with one of the current approved safety standards:
 Current Australian standard AS/NZ 3838 (2006 onwards) provided they are SAI global
marked.
 New Australian standard ARB HS 2012 provided they are SAI global marked
 Current American standards ASTM FII63 (2004a or 04a onwards) provided they are SEI
marked, or SNELL E2001.
 Current British standard PAS 015 (1998 or 2011) provided they are BSI Kitemarked.
 Interim European Standard VGI (01.040: 2014-12) with or without BSI Kitemark.
ALL RIDERS MUST BE DISMOUNTED WHEN CROSSING THE ROAD TO THE CENTER
ARENA.
STABLES: Any damage caused to stables by Exhibitors Horse, MUST be made good or be
replaced. Exhibitors are responsible to maintain the stables in good condition, if not, the
horse will be removed and the reimbursement of damages will be sort.
H.C. horses accepted but are non-competitive for the duration of that day, after a HC Start.
Jumping Events shall pause during Trotting Events.
Horses may only have 2 starts per day with the exception of the 6 Bar
