Arc-Suppression Coil Suited Plant with automatic

resonance and fault line selecting

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS
SIYUAN ELECTRIC CO., LTD.
Operating Instructions
After the circuit connection is finished and switched to the power, the
device will get to work automatically. When an earth fault occurs, the fault
information will be recorded and printed automatically. The procedure of
setting parameters is listed below, and once the parameter setting is finished,
it needs no more operation but looking through parameters.

I. Menu Structure
In order to use this device conveniently, we’d better get familiar with the
menu structure (option operation) first. See Graph 1.

Graph 1. Menu Structure

The controller has six buttons, “←”, “→”, “↑”, “↓”, “×”, “√”.
“←,→”:The two buttons are used to move the cursor on the LCD screen.
“↑, ↓” : The two buttons are used to change the optional value where
the cursor is located.
“×, √”:“×” is used to “cancel” while “√” is used to “confirm”.
When we carry out the operation, move the cursor to the place which
needs to be adjusted with the buttons “←, →” first, the chosen word will be
highlighted, then we could adjust the optional value with the key “↑, ↓”.
The system will go back to the “operational state” interface if there is no
operation for sixty seconds in any interface.

II. Instructions of Menu items

The suited plant use graphic interface, it’s very convenient for man-

machine communication. The main menu will be displayed on the screen if
only the controller is powered on.

Graph 2-1. Function Menu

As the graphic2-1 showed above, the function options of controller
include: operational state, earthing information, parameter setting and state
information.
 Operational State ― Displaying the operational information such as:
current tap of arc suppression coil, neural voltage, neural current, system
capacitive current, remnant current, disresonance degree and operation
mode.
 Earthing Information ― Having the maximum memory size of saving 500
times earthing information, which include the earthing information of
fault line, earthing time and the current operating parameters of power
system.
 Parameter Setting ― Confirming the system setting of disresonance
degree, delay time to be stable, range of remnant current, clock, lines’
serial number, delay time of fault line selecting.
 State Information ― Checking the state of load current tap changer and
times of switching tap.
We’ll then get more information about these four submenus.

1. Operational State
This menu displays the operational information of system.

a) Icon of stand-alone operation is “ ”, icon of online operation is “

b) The current controlled plant could be alternative between the two
sets of plant by means of changing the number of current arc
suppression coil if the operation mode is “one controlling two
system”;
c) Icon of auto operation mode is “AUTO” while “ , ” are the icons of
manual operation mode. It also can be alternative by pressing “ ”.
More in details, “ ” means switching to the next tap downward while
“ ” means switching to the next tap upward.
d) Icon for printing is “ ”, it means printing the current state
information. Please refer to the fig 2-9 for the format;
e) “ ” or “×” means canceling the menu.

2. Earthing information
This menu shows relative information of each fault, such as the serial
number of fault line, time of earthing and fault eliminating, the earthing
times and operating parameters of system when earthing occurs. The
controller has the maximum memory size of saving 500 times earthing
information,

b) Pressing “ ” will switch the screen between the first and the second;
c) Pressing “ ” will print the current earthing information. Please refer
to the fig 2-12 for the format;
d) “ ” or “×” means canceling the menu.

3. Parameter Setting
Parameter Setting is used to set the parameters of arc suppression coil,
the parameters of fault line selecting and clock adjustment, parameters of
delay-off for fault line selecting. Passwords are required when access to these
submenus. According to the graph 2-5, the original password is: 0000, which
could be changed into any other 4-bit number at will after confirmed. For
your convenience, an easily remembered password is recommended.

Graph 2-5. Parameter Setting

After input the password, graph 2-6 would be showed on the LCD screen:

The current controlled plant could be alternative between the two sets of
plant by means of changing the number of current arc suppression coil if the
operation mode is “one controlling two system”;
a) Pressing “ ” results in alternating the menu between the “operating
parameter setting” and “line parameter setting”;
b) Pressing “ ” means printing the current earthing information. Please
refer to the graph 2-10 and 2-11 for the format;
c) “ ” or “ ×” means canceling the menu.
The suited plant can monitor as much as 48 lines at the same time.
Definition of serial number should abide by the principle of “one for one”, we
should notice that repeated definition of line serial number is not allowed.
Instead, reservation of serial number for future power line extension is
allowed here.
The plant has an inner clock with self-contained battery, even though
there is any trouble with the external power, the system could also works as
usual, recording the time of earthing. Clock adjusting might be required in
the process of operation and maintenance.

4. State Information
This menu is used to show the state of load current tap changer and the
times of switching tap.

means something wrong with the load current tap changer;
c) “ ” or “×” means canceling the menu.

III. Warning indication

Once an earthing fault occurs, the LCD screen will immediately display
the current earthing information, including fault line number, earthing times,
and the lasting time. Such informations will not disappear during the entire
earthing fault until pressing any key or the earthing fault is eliminated, which
means the system go back to the normal state. See graph 3-1.
