From Math to His Love

I see you
I am everywhere
And I notice you as you drive through bustling streets
But you never notice the ticking numbers in the traffic lights
And I notice you as you stare through the hourglass
But you never notice the hyperboloid that hold the sands
And I notice you as you wear your round-framed shades
But you never notice the circle protecting your irises

I see you
I am everywhere
I am the parabola in your smiles
Or the ellipses of your pretty eyes
Or the slope of your nose
Also in your curves
Maybe in your edges
I can be your entire being if you’d let me

I see you
I am everywhere
So I know that you hate me
Clear as the plane sight
And we intersect at the origin, but diverged like x and y
Oh, but you will never be mine, much less your x
And all the time I’m asking y
We never touch like an invisible asymptote is passing us by

I see you
I am everywhere
Because you are the every right angle
To my double circular cones
So like the rectangle, I can be auxiliary
Since I know we can both create a connection like test points
Like a standard equation I can be your right 1
And like a relation, we can function

I see you
I am everywhere
But you just never notice me
So you have to know more importantly
That I like you
But you need me more than I need you
So if you don’t want to get a five or four
You’ve got to at least love me more
