Work Larsen and Toubro Ltd., India (August 2007 – July 2009)
Experience - Executive Engineer in the Heavy Engineering Division
- Responsible for manufacturing of Heat Exchangers, Condensers and Wind
Tunnels.
Research Turbulence
Experience -Application of Ensemble Kalman Filtering to a turbulent combustion
model for reduction of error in variables passed from a finer scale one
dimensional turbulence to a courser scale large eddy simulation.
- I am presently doing this research under the guidance of Dr. Tarek
Echekki (MS, Ph.D. Stanford University).
Mass Transfer
- Dynamic Modeling and Simulation of the Formation of Vesicle Traps
in Fast Axonal Transport
- A dynamic 1-D mathematical model was set up to simulate the formation
of vesicle traps in fast axonal transport occurring in neurons.
- The transient governing partial differential equations were solved to
calculate the time required for the model to reach steady state.
Thermal Science
- Mathematical Simulation of Compression ignition engines to study the
performance characteristics and to predict Equilibrium products and
their properties after combustion of different fuels.
- I did a zero dimensional model to simulate a complete cycle of a diesel
engine to study its various characteristics using progressive combustion.
- The entire code was written in C++
- I did this paper as a Research Assistant of Prof. J.P. Subrahmanyam (Head
of Mechanical Engg Department and NTPC Chair Professor) in Indian
Institute of Technology, Delhi
Tribology
- Effect of Oil Jet Peening on the Tribological properties of AA6063-T6
alloy.
- I studied the mechanical properties of various materials and oils
extensively and developed the new Oil Jet Peening process.
- Did the research as a part of Research Fellowship won in Indian Institute
of Technology, Madras under Dr. R. Gnanamoorthy.
- Process is still under development and analysis to exploit its implications
far and wide.
Honors - Won award for Best Innovation for Anti Collision System in Indian Institute of
and Awards Technology, Madras .
- Best Paper Award in Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati in Techniche’05.
- Won prestigious Research Fellowship Award in Indian Institute of Technology,
Madras 2006.
- Did a Research Assistantship in Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 2007.
- Selected for Research Fellowship in University of Victoria, Canada under
Dr. Daniela Constantinescu.
- Recipient of Interest Rate Scholarship from Manipal Academy of Higher Edu.
- Technical Secretary of Institute of Engineers, Mechanical students chapter,
2005-07 which won the award for Best Technical Student Chapter in India 2006
during my tenure.
- Organized and lectured in robotics workshops on Industrial Robots conducted
by Institute of Engineers.
- Developed a fully automated robot with visual sense for Indian Institute of
Technology, Guwahati.
- Selected for the final round of J.N. Tata Scholarship - India 2009
- Selected for the final round of Narotam Sekhsaria Scholarship - India 2009
- First prize in Paper Presentation Contest by IEEE pune (India)- 2006
- Member of Technical Section of magazine of Institute of Engineers
